the front of the Car and Driver photo is from the TSX 2009, the exact copy.
The wheels from an Infinity FX, the rear I don't know. What are they thinking about?

My parents have bought a bunch of Acuras from a sales guy at the local dealer.

So i gave him a call and told him if he would agree to $33,500 for a new TL-S for a friend of mine. Also told them if he agrees then we will come in tonight at 5 to sign the papers. He called me back 15min later saying done deal.

Thats all. I got that price from looking at what others have seem to be getting on the TL forums. Its not the lowest that anyone has gotten but fairly low.

That .9% rate is drool worthy.

Didn't mean to scare ya.

The deals people have been getting do make it very tempting to trade, though. I just don't want to regret not waiting for the new stuff to be out before I make a decision. My current plan is to keep this car for another 2-3 years unless something goes majorly wrong, or I fall into temptation.

That's just sick. Reminds me of when I got my CL-S for ~$33.7K including tax and license.

Financing through a Credit Union is DEFINITELY the way to go.
I got a 3.1% rate on a 3 year old USED car.

A lot of dealers can do this, its either 2k cash back or 1.9% or 2.9% financing. I was talking to my salesman at acura and he said on a type S, all they would need to do was be 1 dollar over invoice, then subtract the 2K, coming out to 33,501 for a brand new TL-S. (the one dollar is so he can get his regular commission as it is an over invoice sale)

I just found this online today. I don't know how reliable this website is s maybe one of the other forum members can comment on the reliability of the source. I also hope this isn't old news to any of you.

The last bit of good news on the Type-S is the slush box. A 6 speed, manumatic DSG gearbox will be standard equipment on this faster-than-average sports sedan. Expect to be able to shift the gears through steering wheel-mounted, flappy-paddle shifters, or with the "stick" itself via a "+/-" gate.
Hopefully this is true, and its a complete redesign

Yeah, there are bits and pieces that i really like about the car in the article, but i know a lot of people will complain about the base being front wheel drive still. I for one, applaud it. When looking at the current model year's base and Type S models, besides the larger engine, why should I get a type S? I don't see the extra incentive to put more money towards the type S for .3 more liters of displacement. No thanks. But for 340-350 HP with SH-AWD, not that's worthwhile. The base TL will still have the benefits of fuel economy and the safer and more reliable front wheel drive system.

That sounds good. If I can get a brand new '08 TL Type-S 6MT for $34~ 35k this October, I'm in. But if they are not willing to go any lower than $38+ k, then f#@k(pardon my language) Acura... I say kiss my butt byebye.

Check out the TSX forum, several peeps had gotten great deals on 08 TL-S already, one even bought one for $33.5k. These are posted in the TSX forum because, originally, these people were about to buy the new TSX, but then when they found out they only had to pay a grand or 2 more for the TL-S, they went for that instead.

how much longer until real spy shots of the 09 TL? there were spy shots of the TSX in camo a full 5 months before it debuted at the NY Auto show.

Thanks for the heads up. I will check it out. And really... that's no brainer for those guys to go with the '08 TL Type-S for a grand more, and crush that TSX in performance. I like the interior of the new TSX but the performance is a joke...

For me there is a small chance to go with the new '09TL as it is going to likely cost more and will weigh more, hence the handling/cornering can also be worsen. Not good. Even if it will opt with some incredible exterior design it's no good if it can't do any better than an 3rd gen TL Type-S 6MT in cornering performance.

Only insiders at Honda and certain general managers from Acura dealers have seen the TL. From one I have spoken to, it looks great. It doesn't look like any current Acura and has many hints of the Sports4 concept.

Looks are subjective but I hear it looks much better than the TSX or RL.

See for yourself

Old crappy spyphotos I know. But the basic lines are aggressive and the "mean" headlights are retained.
