Stupid shit with a still WWD (wrong wheels drive), but I like it's ass with tail lights and quad pipes. Investing in suspension is a must especially for those who care about to add a supercharger.

I'd consider it, but the fact that I could spend a little more and get an A4 would be too enticing.

Lots of nice little improvements and some big ones, I don't get the "all new" 5 speed tranny though. Put that effort into a 6/7 speed. Maybe it's a stopgap for something else .

I was half expecting the red gauges to be somewhat gaudy, but now that I see it's not completely all red, I like it better than the standard.

I believe the TL-S as a whole is a stopgap until the 4G TL makes its appearance. On paper, I think it is a worthy alternative to the G35 and IS350.....although both the Infiniti and Lexus are new designs.

I find it ironic that the VQ35HR in the new G35 is a higher revving motor than the J35 in the TL-S. It is almost as if Infiniti is attempting lure the Acura crowd while Acura is attempting to lure some of the Infiniti/Nissan crowd. As a Nissan afficionado, I have to confess that the TL-S has definitely piqued my interest and I WILL be taking that test drive the moment it arrives on Bridgewater Acura's lot.

But, will you buy the TL-S? F23A4?

I want to test drive both the TL-S and the new G35 sedan. Still think the new G35 sedan would kick the TL-S butt straight off the line.

I like the Red and white gauges myself, but hate the red illumination buttons. Reminds me of the current G35 yucky orange lighting.

Does anyone know how much the old 2002-2003 TL-S cost when new?

Let us now how the test drive goes... I'm interested in how it performs too. Though I think I'd prefer the G35S over the TL-S, the TL-S is intriguing. I love the interior.

I do not know what I will upgrade to next (from the Maxima) but after having driven an 04 TL and an 03-06 G35S/X, my conclusion was that I wanted a 3G TL with the G35's powertrain. Judging by this new TL-S, I think someone at Honda got wind of my conclusion.

The gauges on the TL-S actually remind me of the Subaru Legacy's gauges....just tri as opposed to quad.

BTW, I think the original TL-S pricing was similar to the MSRP on the current TL (non-S).

It seems to me that honda is a litle short on the torque, comparing to other Japanese 3.5 engine, and although it doesnt make any more sense to put more torque on the front wheels.

As far as its FWD competitors, it has the Maxima beat by 4lb-ft, the Avalon/Camry V6 by 8lb-ft and the ES350 by 2lb-ft.

....as you indicated, it would not make too much sense to push any additional torque to the front wheels.

After all this criticism about the TL and FWD, do you think Honda/Acura will silence their critics and make the 4th gen TL RWD and have SH-AWD as an option?

No. Buy virtue of the TL and TSX being based off of our Accord and the Euro Accord respectively, it won't be RWD at all. From what I understand, they will continue in that tradition with the next generation. I can't see why they wouldn't offer SH-AWD on both cars though.

Why mess with an interior that looks great as it is?

Its only an mid model refresh anyways.

Concurred.

Acura (like Mazda did with the Mazdaspeed6) seriously seems to to have dropped the styling ball when it comes to putting wheels on a performance model. But unlike the Mazda's wheels, which look like they belong on a luxury car more than a performance car, the ones on the TL-S look like the $599 special at wheelguyz.com.

The people who designed the 3rd gen TL bodystyle and now the 07 refresh took some styling cues from the Euro/JDM Accord/TSX and incorporated it into the TL.

Pretty funny that history will repeat itself now with the RDX and new 2nd generation MDX. They also look alike.
Uhhh, even though the TSX was released first, it was actually the TL that was designed first and inspired the Accord/TSX.

I'm really leaning toward trading my 04 in on one.
Does anybody know what the color combos will be?

What's your source for this information?

The current Euro/Japanese Accord went on sale for the 2003 model year. Why would it have taken Honda since before then to get the TL ready to go on sale for 2004?
