but I honestly think Acura should not have made LED headlight standard on every TLX and soon on every Acura. it is good for consumers until when they realize the $25k ILX has the same headlight. when every Acura on the road has the same headlight, then it is no longer something special and with many other standard features.
And as for your earlier comment about them not being adaptive, if you see them in action because of the 5 projectors on each side and wide dispersement, they don't really need swiveling action because the light throw pattern is already substantially wider than normal fixed Xenon HID projectors.
Acura clearly needs to offer more/better differentiation than Honda Plus, but then when they move upscale in features and price moves up accordingly, peeps will complain about the pricing. Just look at Cadillac for example. Brand managers cannot move a product upmarket in pricing in such a short period or it will shock the clientele base. Is the new CTS a nice car? Yes, but is it worth 10k more on average than the model it replaced.

I saw my first live TLX last night. It looked pretty sharp in black with the black/silver rims. It was dark so I couldn't get a good look at the interior.
Still once the novelty wears off the car needs a version with snugger-fitting wheels and slightly lower springs. I don't know why Acura insists on making its car look 4x4-ish. This one wasn't even a 4x4 (no SH-AWD badge).

All you've done is pointed out how much they failed with the current standard design. If this SEMA version is an improvement over the standard design, and it still has the problems you are noting, that means the standard design is really not good.
Wait, so now that "the haters" have found a TLX they like you decide you hate it? Is this truly the whole point of your existence, to just contradict everyone and complain?

Data is rather limited for the TLX V6. 0-60mph so far is in the 5.5s to 6s range. I have only seen one 1/4 mile test with a trap speed of 98mph, and that's for an AWD trim too. That sort of performance would put the car on par with 328i, IS350, and ATS 3.6, faster than ATS 2.0T, C300, and A4 2.0T, and slower than 335i, S4, and C400.
Car and Driver has estimates that match the numbers from your source, but no instrumented test numbers yet.
The instrumented S4, IS350 and 335 tests show 0-60 under 5 seconds, with quarters in the mid-13s-- that's quite a bit faster than even optimistic estimates of TLX performance, but not surprising given its 40-horsepower or so deficit.
the stock tlx is a good looking car imo, especially now that I'm seeing them on the road regularly.
I'm not a fan of the sema pic, looks boyracer-ish to me.

In those shots, I don't like the spoiler. It's too "tacked on". And the tips need to be larger. I don't mind the rectangular shape though, but I think 3G TL-S quads would look good in there.

[sigh] Here we go again. To summarize - the TLX is a fine car. It will (is) sell reasonably well. It is not, however, the game changing splash in the market Acura needs to become relevant again.
Good enough versus hory-shet-awesome is a huge difference. The "haters" are asking for hory-shet-awesome...something that Acura USED to do back in the 90s...

the point: it's foul play for me to voice my disliking of the sema sketch, but it's totally cool for anyone else to say the same thing as long as they're not me.
let me add a bit more, the front bumper looks like they took it from a cobalt, there is too much black plastic on the rear bumper, and I'm not a fan of rectangular exhaust.

The new midsize sedan demonstrated acceptable performance in the challenging small-overlap test, good ratings for four other crashworthiness trials, and a superior rating for front-crash protection.
In the small-overlap test, the maximum intrusion of approximately seven inches was measured at the lower hinge pillar. The dummy's movement was well controlled, keeping its head nestled between two airbags.
"Measures from the dummy sensors indicated that injuries to the left lower leg would be possible, but the risk of other injuries in a crash of this severity was low," the organization noted.
The TLX outperforms one of its predecessors, the TSX, which earned a marginal rating for the small-overlap trial, however it received a lower rating than its other forebear, the TL, which achieved a good rating in the same test.
"The TLX joins the RLX flagship sedan and MDX sport-utility vehicle in earning top marks from the IIHS, making Acura the leader among all luxury brands with the most 2014 TOP SAFETY PICK+ rated models," Acura said in a statement.
