Exactly.

And the fact that it took an aftermarket company to finally do something exciting with the car is sad as well. The best Acura's come up with is some fugly clip on trim pieces.

skd2k1,
You do realize that you are obnoxiously annoying in every post, right?
I wonder if you are like that in real life as well.
Because LA AZine members who have met me know that I'm like the most opposite of troll in real life.
Just wanted to point it out because I really do feel sorry for you nowadays.

The actual test numbers I've seen (newspaper and Edmunds tests) for 0-60 are in the mid-7s for the 4 and mid-6's for the 6-- that's much slower than the comparable IS, 3-series, ATS, etc.
Car and Driver has estimates that match the numbers from your source, but no instrumented test numbers yet.
The instrumented S4, IS350 and 335 tests show 0-60 under 5 seconds, with quarters in the mid-13s-- that's quite a bit faster than even optimistic estimates of TLX performance, but not surprising given its 40-horsepower or so deficit.

The likes of C400, 335i, and S4 are faster than the TLX V6. As I've been saying, the TLX V6 performance is more comparable to IS350, 328i, C300. Actually Car and Driver already did a real test on the TLX 2.4.

BMW don't need to handle well anymore or be a driver's car anymore.
It's a beemer.
Mercedes don't need to be anything. It's a Benz.
Acura actually need to be something.............because it's not at the same level of prestige and market power as those three in America.

Some TLX V6 times are at:Acura TLX 0-60 times, 0 to 100 kmh acceleration, 1/4 mile. Autoweek timed the 0-60 on both TLX models in 2015 Acura TLX first drive | Autoweek. Dan Neil has the TLX V6 SH-AWD at 6.8(!) 0-60- see 2015 Acura TLX Makes a Quiet Statement - WSJ - WSJ.
The G37/Q50 has always been a low-5 second car, with a couple of sub-5 second 0-60 runs in various publications. The IS350 and Q50 aren't far off the 335 times. It seems like the TLX V6 is way behind the class in terms of acceleration.

Pretty amazing how little deformation of the cabin occurs in that small overlap head-on considering the A pillar/firewall section takes alot of the impact once it runs through the upper/lower clip. Structural/FEA/mechanical engineers did their job very well. Notice part of the front left rim flying at 0.19

Acurazine have a lot of Anti-Acura feelings though. The common group mentality here is that 'we don't hate Acura, we are just so let down by what was once a great car Brand'. The truth is it's far easier to bash and mock than to admire. What's the fun in saying 'The TLX is selling well and it have great reviews'? No fun. It's a lot more fun to point out it's perceived flaws.
All you people hating on the TLX isn't really doing it because you guys felt 'let down' by the 'beloved' Acura brand. You guys just hate to simply hate.
The TLX just moved 5000 Units last month. Doesn't matter to you guys. When the TLX eventually move 6000+ and they will. It still won't matter. If the TLX end up selling too much? You guys will simply state that 'sales numbers don't matter'. And that 'these people buying the car don't REALLY know anything'...
Prepare to be confused when the TLX move 6000+ Units in December. Prepare to sit there and stare blankly at the Acurazine homepage..wondering how in the WORLD are there 5000-6000 morons paying a lot of money every month to get this 'piece of trash' TLX.

That wouldn't be so bad since the car is priced similar to a 328i I think (at least in Canada) but the fuel economy on that Lexus V6 is horrible while the 328i is best in class. I'll wait until Lexus refreshes the engine (and the graphics on their multimedia system, which also lags badly behind BMW/Audi).

I saw a TLX up close on the road, finally. I dunno what trim level it was, but I liked it. Nowhere near the hulking land barge the 4G was. Sister thought it was a TSX.
6G TLX-S
The gauges/console layout and equipment level on that 4-cylinder TLX are very similar to my $60K Cdn 3G MDX, which is a big plus.
However, not only is the TLX not as big as the 4G TL on the outside, the inside of the TLX is also more cramped when compared to the 4G TL, too.
The 4-cylinder engine is also comparatively short in power, but loud in engine noise when pushed.
Looks like the V6 TLX will be a better choice.

Was good rating by IIHS which conducted that test, same as previous years.
What test and what "acceptable" rating are you referring to?
AFAIK, NTSHA has not tested a TLX yet but could be mistaken.

OK, so same score for 4 of 5 categories but droped to acceptable for intrusion of lower door hinge. So to be clear the acceptable was only for 1 out of 5 tests, not overall. FWIW, the 2014 TL also had door hinge deformation but not intrusion. So the overall difference is small in the test results.

lol, you're about 100% wrong. Clearly you don't know what the term "marketing" means, because PT Cruisers/Cobalts/Sebrings sure as hell didn't sell on the fact that they were any good. But keep pretending you know something about business.

Acura actually need to be something.............because it's not at the same level of prestige and market power as those three in America.
The common people don't care about any 0-60 seconds that car forum nerds care about. They care about 1-Price 2-Looks 3- Brand. (In no particular order)
BMW don't need to handle well anymore or be a driver's car anymore.

I wholeheartedly agree that most people don't really care about 0-60mph or 1/4 mile. More specifically, I don't think most people would care about a few tenths or a couple mph in the 1/4 mile.
See Lexus 0-60 Times & Lexus Quarter Mile Times | Lexus IS F, RX, RC, LFA, GS 350, LS 460 sedan, LX 570, SC 0-60 and 2014 Lexus Hybrid 0 to 60 stats! on the 2014 IS250 and IS350 in various forms. The IS250 RWD versions are either faster or the same in the quarter mile as the TLX 2.4 as measured by C&D; it has the IS350 at under 5 in 0-60...

I'm not sure about your sources, I think most would agree to use more reputable sources such as Car and Driver, Edmunds, Motor Trend, etc. I have done that already to back up my claims. Also, none of your numbers show that the IS 250 is anywhere quicker than 7 seconds with the IS 250.
And what's the point of comparing one of the slowest times of a car to the fastest time of another car?
Here's an actual video clip showing 0-60mph in 5.8s for the TLX V6 AWD:
Here's the IS350 F Sport with 0-60mph in 5.6s:

It's nowhere near that. I've been looking at the IS350 as my potential next ride and I really like it but IMO the engine is the main drawback. Based on all the reviews I've seen I figure it has almost identical performance to a BMW 328i, i.e. 0-60 in around 5.6 at best. It's definitely a class below the 335i or S4.

I had a chance to try out a loaded 2.4L TLX as my service courtesy car, a couple weeks ago.

But you know, I actually thought the 320i is a solid car. You do get a BMW for low $30k, despite the fact that it might be hard to find a base 320i on the lot. But you get a real, rear-wheel drive BMW. I personally would prefer the base 320i over a CLA250 or A3.
I drive a Subata.

Damn that Lexus speedometer looks fantastic!

There are a number of options not offered on the 320i. Personally, I hate the 320i, but I can see its appeal.

If the lease price is pretty good, it should be a pretty fun car to DD. It does come with a 6MT.
