"What's more, as Edmunds reported, the configuration in the NSX isn't going to be shared with any other Honda product."
I know i won't be able to afford one, Can you?
So that is not a good news.

Then saw the configuration news and edited my post to add the info. Should have made a separate post

350hp and 330lbs of torque. $45k. AWD
Then Finally Acura can say "Fuck you Lexus and BMW". Then Acura probably will put a ^ in the front to fuck it up.

Not sure if a 90° V6 would even fit in a TLX sized sedan

Doesn't it take up alot of space (width) Especial being longitudinally mounted?
I mean look how they stuffed the 90° V6 in the NA1/2 NSX

And yes, a 90 degree V6 thats DOHC is going to be rather wide, also means a lower hood.
Partly what annoyed me with the Legend/RL/1st gen TL. That engine bay could have easily fit a V8.

That 2.5 TL could've fit a V10
I always got a laugh when I popped the hood. "What? Inline 5?" "What? Longitudinally mounted and FWD?"

It took some innovation to mount a engine longitudinally in a FWD car.

The sizzle in the Steak
ummm...With that much power, you don't want that kind of wheel hop and torque steer on a TLX.

errrm...this gotta be a typo? I mean I'd be amazed if the new NSX is under 3200lb....2200lb?? That's crazy, especially if this thing has over 500hp!
The high-tech powertrain will be augmented by a surprisingly low curb weight that one engineer suggested was targeted at 2200 pounds, though he quickly stopped talking after that. We don't know much about the NSX's body and frame construction yet, but Honda confirmed it will be an aluminum monocoque. The Ferrari, by way of comparison, weighs a shade less than 3450 pounds.

6G TLX-S
Way to go, Honda !
Turbo engines are the future in generating big horsepower.
It sure is a hard decision to "follow" other automakers, but nowadays the whole auto industry is going after force-induction technology for big hp and big fuel saving.
Audi and BMW has been exceptionally successful with a wide range of turbo/super charged engines with excellent results.

It's 3200 pounds. Read the first comment at the bottom of the article posted above.

We're told Acura's benchmark in developing the new NSX is the vaunted Ferrari 458 Italia, with Acura hoping to provide a comparable or better driving experience for less money (911 prices, it says) and with more technology. Other street versions of the F1 weighted ~2500lb and have 627HP
And were designed 20 years ago
But yes I agree with the 2G NSX it's a typo and 3200lb.
But by God, Gordon Murray is a F'ing gunius!

CR-V came after the RAV4
V6 engine in the Accord
Pilot came after the disastrous Passport
Ridgeline - last midsize truck to the market
5AT, 6AT, DCT, etc
NSX - a response to Ferrari
Odyssey - pretty much the last minivan to the market (1g was again a failure)
While Honda is also renowned for coming up with interesting new cars and technologies, I'd say Honda is pretty good with being a "follower." It does not just follow the others, but it tries to do it better and smarter (i.e. AWD system, hybrid, MDX, Pilot, RDX, DCT, NSX, Odyssey, etc).
Not that crazy, the McLaren F1 LM street version weighted ~2300lb and had over 680HP.

Back on topic, if Honda can reach the target weight of 3200lb, that's still pretty good.

Um yeah, I have one. A boat it is not. You can rip on the power plenum all you want, but it is a steal compared to the S4. Would I like it better in a slightly smaller, nimbler package with better steering feel? Yes.
I will be amazed if Honda can pull off the aggressive powertrain, weight target, "911~esque" price point AND release date goal.
My gut tells me it will be priced closer to $150k and given the small annual production runs, probably be difficult to get your hands on.

I've been told approximately $140,000 for over a year now. Consistently.
