Acura: NSX News

That was a good read, I always enjoy the behind the scenes design and development stories.
I liked this part of the article which I was wondering if some current racer had tested the 2G NSX as had Senna and Rahal did on the 1G.
It also shows the ability to make S/W changes which can change the handling.

At one testing session, for instance, with none other than IndyCar champ Dario Franchitti at the wheel, the NSX oversteered wildly. Engineers discovered there had been a program update to the electric motors at the front wheels, which dramatically changed the car's handling.

I feel the need...
The new Acura NSX radically reset our expectations of what a supercar could be
Let's cut right to the chase.
I was never a fan of the first-generation Acura NSX. In fact, I could rightly be called a critic of the car, introduced in 1990 and produced until 2005. I thought it was boring. A guy who lived down the street from me in Los Angeles owned one and parked it on front of his house. I never once paused to look at it.
Yes, I know the car was a designed by the legendary Pininfarnia. Didn't matter. I didn't care.
But the NSX had its fans, and plenty of them. So after a hiatus, Honda (Acrua's parent company) completely rethought the NSX and rolled out a second-generation of the car. I saw it for the first time at the 2015 New York auto show. My reaction was "Meh."
Later, I saw different versions of the new NSX. More meh. Images of the interior began circulating. Meh.
Then Acura kindly let us borrow the NSX for a few days.
Oh. My. God.
It was almost head-warping how quickly my mind was changed after just a few minutes with the actual NSX, live and in the flesh, sitting behind the wheel, driving the thing.
It was hypnotically beautiful. It was fast and responsive. It was breathtakingly gorgeous.
The new NSX flat-out ravished me. I can't remember having such a profoundly rapturous reaction to a car. I could barely speak. Everything I had thought about the car before was wrong, so wrong.
Let's take a closer look at why I was an idiot to ever doubt the new Acura NSX:

"I change my mind all the time. But not about stuff I consider truly fundamental, such as my gut feeling that the old NSX was cultishly unworthy."
It was oh-so worthy -- tuned for Aryton Senna and put Ferrari on notice. It's not clear the author was deeply knowledgable.

I'm the Firestarter
Honestly it sounds like a review that gets written so that Acura reposts it, a fluff piece.

Gorgeous. Viper owner said nobody paid attention to his car.

Yeah, but that viper is MUCH older in comparison.

Straight line drag races are so stupid. 9/10 times you can guess who will win correctly.

So is the driver in the NSX faster than the Driver in the GTR? or is NSX faster than the GTR?
Hard to tell when no time is provided.

^^ I've lost count how many times you two clowns have engaged SSFTSX. So it apparently it takes an irrational dork to know another.

^^ Saw that before signing my purchase agreement. I suspect he's probably right about Acura misjudging the market and anyone expecting to own an appreciating asset in the 2G is deluding themselves. The extended delay in getting this puppy to market, poor marketing and lack of communication to potential buyers has disappointed a lot of folks (including myself).
Still scratches off an item on my bucket list and intend to put a lot of miles on mine, it won't be a garage queen. Am fully expecting to eat a ton of depreciation but hopefully have a lot of fun doing so. As they say, first world problems.

You know what...if you've made it in life to the point where you can afford a 150k-200k car? Well done and enjoy! Share photos/videos and write up the experience for the rest of us to enjoy and live vicariously.
So looks like we have at least 1 AZiner who owns a 2G NSX.

Ill keep my 2nd home and wait. Maybe when they figure out "that kind of thrill" and the kids have either moved out or outlasted their welcome when they turn 18 and i kick them out ill see if its still worth dropping money on it.
