Clearly, you didn't go to skoo with enough ...This is how it works: We come to your skoo, get all the A+++++ in all the major subjects EXCEPT Englishee. We usually bomb that subject because we don't bother to learn it. Capisce?

Already posted earlier in the prior posts but Autocar adds to the speculation that a Type R is very likely...

I wonder if there's a chance the new Type R will end up being worth 1M eventually, as a collector car. It seems crazy now, but 25 years from now? I wonder.

As respected as the first gen is...do you see it appreciating in value like that? FWIW, here's the 2002 NSX R for sale: Used 2002 Honda NSX for sale in Hong Kong | Pistonheads

I dunno. I sincerely wonder. That NSX you posted is listed for ~235k US. It has appreciated in value. I wonder if in another 10 years if prices will skyrocket.

i mean, if you think about it, there have been many cars in recent years who's value has skyrocketed. It seems there are more and more millionaires around and each one wants something unique... So you see prices go from something reasonable, to bananas in no time. And for their first 20 years, no one would have thought those particular cars would be worth as much as they are now.

It seems asinine that a Type R would be worth that much, but who knows... I bet the new Type R will start at a cool 250k. Is it unreasonable to think it will quadruple in value, 25 years after production ends?

FWIW, that's the ASKING price...not sure if anyone will buy it. I can't honestly say I know what the going price of the Type R actually is either. Probably will have to Google some auction prices to get an idea...the thing is, with "classic" cars or any cars of yesterday, you just don't know what will trigger some mass-hysteric price rocketing of it. I think the 1988 M5 is one car that went from cheap to suddenly $$$$$ when people realized how great the car was...? Anyways, not an expert on used cars at all.

Porsche Left a Cheeky Message On the 911 GT3 Acura Bought to Develop the NSX

Porsche Left a Cheeky Message On the 911 GT3 Acura Bought to Develop the NSX

A note to any automakers benchmarking cars built by Porsche: They will find you, and they'll probably leave you goofy messages hidden somewhere in the car. That's what happened when the911 GT3 Acura was using to help develop the NSX's steering went back to the dealer for a recall service.

As many automakers do, Acura bought its 911 GT3 anonymously, but Porsche was able to figure out who it belonged to when it looked at the car's black-box data, according to Automotive News. It was at this point that Porsche decided to have a little bit of fun with its counterparts at Acura.

"Good luck Honda from Porsche. See you on the other side," read a note left under the 911 GT3's engine cover, according to the NSX's dynamics project leader Nick Robinson. The NSX team also benchmarked a McLaren 12C, and although McLaren never figured out that Acura owned the particular car, the dealer in charge of servicing raised an eyebrow.

"[The McLaren dealer] wanted to know, where did you go 205 mph? What track," said Robinson.

One has to wonder, though, how Porsche was so certain that the 911 GT3 in question belonged to the Acura NSX development team. It would be quite awkward if Porsche left that sort of note on a random customer's car.

I'd be pissed off on all accounts if Porsche wrote "good luck, Honda" on my car.

afterall, it was Acura who bought the car, not Honda.

He'd still be pissed. Porsche didn't capitalize the G in "good".

Yea, but we dont know if it was on the car itself or on something left under the cover, So technically its possible nothing was written on any part of the car itself

read a note left under the 911 GT3's engine cover,

Lack of communication on NSX allocations has been perplexing. Radio silence.

Porsche has marketing down to a science. Acura, not so much.

Yeah car markets for these things can be very finnicky. A great example is the Ford GT market that has shot through the roof....and when it came out 10 years ago...it would be hard to find lot of people predicting how the markets would work.

Are you typically prone to hyperbole?

I was referring to marketing communication or lack thereof. Seems to me that if you are attempting to cater to a consumer who is capable of spending upwards of 200k on a discretionary purchase, a clearer marketing strategy to keep said consumer informed of the process might be in order.

Silly concept to the folks at Acura apparently.

Gotta say I'm actually happy to see this car finally out and being delivered. The positive reviews and look of this version gives me hope that Honda/Acura did not forget their sportscar market.

Ferrari and Lamborghini build cars faster than that. Why does it take so long to build an NSX?

I think with the RLX it was brought up that the battery packs take forever to manufacture. Just seems odd they can't do it faster than that.

Love it

The new NSX looks really good, too bad it costs a lot more and not affordable like the last NSX
