Wonder when we will know firm pricing? The release date for this bad boy is all over the place...2010, 2011...

Most places say '10 but not if calendar year or MY. If the "other" Acura is supposed to come out before this, then I can't see this before CY10 making it an MY11 car.

Is it me or did it seem like in the "street" portion the tranny seems to be in some sort of "economy" mode - it shifts awafully early. I assume this is the DSG in auto mode. Do we know whose tranny is in there?

I know the old NSX's were hand built and these may be as well but damn 160K for a car??? . I think Nissian GTR is the best super car on the road for the money. Acura needs to compete with that.

I love it how Nissian stuck it to all the german auto makers and chevy Z06 with the 70K price tag..I just hope Acura follows suit.
Reminds me of the old 95 Civics turboed and tweaked for under 17K killing bmw's that cost twice as much. I love underdog stories...ha.

That's because this is Honda CR-Z concept. And whoever made the image stretched it and probably used the LF-A's proportions.

After thinking about the DSG style tranny a bit it occured to me: what are the chances that due to marketing (our whole line up has it), costs (higher volume leads to lower costs), efficiency (better than an auto), etc, the Acura line up will get some watered down version of the DSG in the their sedans? Acura could skip some 6 or 7 AT and use the DSG exclusively in all of their cars. They would save all the money developing a new AT.

Since it seems that some of the platform and perhaps other pieces of this car will be used in the upcoming RWD platform cars, why not the tranny as well?

Man does that sound sweet.

OT: I love how people are calling Dual-Clutch trannies "DSG" now . It's like Kleenex, Chap Stick, Vaseline, etc.

The way we're going with HP, the ZR1 will sound like nothing special in a couple of years.

^ I wouldn't go that far. I do see a huge HP gap happening in most lineups where the overwhelming majority of cars will be below 300HP while there'll be very few in the 500HP+ category.

You are correct, there will be a greater disparity between the vast majority of fuel sipping transporters for steerage, and a few Hi-Po prancing nancy's for teh upper class.

Honda Executive Vice President Koichi says NSX will kick GTRs launch controlled ass

The new Acura NSX has been in development for some time now, having been spotted testing on the Nürburgring numerous times, but nobody knew if all that screaming V10 power would be enough to outperform the Nissan GT-R. Now, Honda Executive Vice President Koichi Kondo, has stated that Mothra the new NSX, though more expensive than Godzilla, will indeed have better performance. Kondo also expects only 1000 units will be sold in the US per year. But doesn't that make it more of a competitor for higher-end machinery?

That is, if all the rumors are true of course.
I wouldn't even be surprised if Spec-V can't beat the NSX.

Godzilla vs Mothra!

Can't wait for the LF-A, this will be a sequel to the Ninety's era Z, NSX and Supra - but everyone's moved from bantamweight to heavyweight class.

Isn't the LF-A project dead? I thought Toyota canceled it because they couldn't meet the performance goals.

So, that's 90/mo - how many did the NSX sell?
At 120K or less they might sell that many, at 200K I'm not sure.

Much better than the old NSX. For some reason I never really was a fan of it.
:thumbsdow on the stacked exhaust if it stays though.

I think the best conceptual draw up is the one in post 59.
It's probably the most aggressive out the ones I've seen.

acura nsx 2010 more news

Well, I know there is a thread about the Acura NSX 2010 but I cannot find out...
nevermind. on http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/au...llnew_nsx.html

some more news about the superugly car:

Check out the nuts and bolts of what will make the replacement for the Honda NSX special!

Set to reach showrooms late next year, the new supercar will be as technologically advanced as the Nissan GT-R. It will target big-name rivals such as the Ferrari F430, Aston Martin V8 Vantage and Porsche 911 GT3.

Where its predecessor had a mere 280bhp from its 3.0-litre V6 engine, the new model features a 5.5-litre V10 delivering 560bhp. This increased power is transferred via a six-speed semi-auto box, with steering wheel-mounted paddleshifters.

As a result, the car should cover 0-60mph in less than four seconds and hit a near-200mph top speed. Honda’s Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system promises amazing grip, while huge brakes complete the package. Inside is a luxury two-seater cabin, with soft leather throughout. A price of around £100,000 is likely.
