I just had a thought... I was looking at the Acura website, curious to know what their current line up prices are. Well, I looked at the RLX Sport Hybrid and under the specs, Acura claims this car puts out 310hp/272lbft. I'm guessing that's just the output of the good ol' J-series engine without the sport hybrid system attached.
I wonder if Acura was doing the same when they announced the NSX as having "north of 550hp". It's not unbelievable for a 3.2/3.5/3.7 twin turbo V6 to put out such numbers, especially the higher displacement engines (I believe the actual displacement has not been confirmed yet). The GTR has been doing it for years.
If that is the case, I can see the NSX putting out a combined total of 700-750hp. Not bad. Not bad at all.
It would also go in hand with the troubles Honda had keeping the car cooled. I guess time will tell...

The 2016 RLX Sport Hybrid has a "377-hp Acura 3-motor Sport Hybrid system" according to the build/price page on the site. I really doubt the NSX will get anywhere near 700hp, even if they stick a twin turbo onto the RLX engine.

I know the RLX Hybrid puts out more than 310hp, but at least on the Canadian site that's not what it said under specs. Might just be a typo on their part.
the NSX isn't getting the RLX engine with a couple of turbos slapped on. It's a brand new design altogether. Either way. I was just being optimistic that this thing wont be old news by the time it gets here... in 2046.

How about an over/under?
We could set the over/under at 550bhp.
I choose under.

Civic Type R turbo makes 306bhp. just straight extrapolating to 3.5L will make it 535bhp without eletric assist. I think NSX is easily north of 600bhp in real. Since Honda hp are much more than other company hp. NSX will easily compete with cars having 1000bhp.

Also, you can't "straight extrapolate" horsepower from a 2.0L engine to a 3.5L engine. It doesn't work that way.
