There are instructions on here for enabling that. It's some series of diagnostics steps through the system you have to do and then it resets after you're done driving.

I had a kit in my WRX where I could turn on the back up camera at any time. Helped me make sure I was inside the garage all the way without having to shift into reverse.

It's a "quirk". There have been times when I've come out of reverse and hit drive the reverse camera stays on for several seconds. lol. That's better than the times it takes forever for it to come on, though, so I'm not going to complain.

Others have had this happen, too; it's nothing serious -- just goofy.
