So I just bought a 2012 TL-Sh-AWD last saturday. As I was driving it home I noticed that the car seemed to be leaning to the left. It honestly felt like a bad Tie rod or bad shock.I went in today to have it looked at and low and behold, 600mi. and both rear struts/shocks went out. This happen to anyone else? Im kinda pissed.
Pics of what? Im not fixing it myself lol. I chewed out Valencia Acura for 25min. They're coming to my work with a loaner, picking up my car and dropping it off wherever I am after its fixed. Ehhhh, kinda makes it better, I guess
Did they burst open, snap into halves, or just leaking hydraulic fluids ?
Pics can say a thousand words.
Please forgive me, but how do I take a picture of something that is defective? Ive had bad shocks/ coil-overs before, thats how I knew something was off with the feel of the ride. When you go up a bump or driveway the rear bottoms out. There is nothing visible without removing parts. The service guy confirmed what I thought when we went for a test drive, I never let them test drive it alone, that way I can point out what is wrong.

he said the shocks went out, not snapped or burst open, just blown..
LOLOLOL good one.. but yea, you cant just take a pic of a shock that is blown and expect to see what is exactly wrong with it..

When one of the front shocks on my 2G TL-S leaked, I posted the pictures in the 2G forum. When Rotora sent me slotted rotors that had bad paint finish, I posted the pictures in the 2G forum. Fellow members discussed and shared experiences. We all gained valuable knowledge and everyone won.
Just for the past few days, a member's XLR8 newly installed J-pipe was touching the transfer case, he posted pictures. Another member has uneven muffler tips, he posted pictures. Yet another member has received a roof spoiler that was too short, he posted pictures. Etc..... etc.....
A picture is worth a thousand words.
However, the OP later clarified that there was no visual cues for his bad struts/shocks. If I had known earlier, then I wouldn't have ask for any picture, but instead asked the OP how he detected and nailed down the exact problem.

The OP said the shocks went out (not blown) back in the very 1st post. So I was wondering how they went out. Were there any visual cues ? Did the hydraulic fluid all splash out ? Pictures, as always, help to understand the situation, and more importantly, help us fellow members to chime in, just in case that some of us have also encountered such problem before.
