I have been using Geni.com.

It is free, easy to use, and displays nicely. If you pay for a subscription, you can tie your tree to trees that other people have created if the page finds matches.

I am trying Ancestry.com right now, also free, but don't care for the interface as much. They also have a subscription service which allows you to view public documents, like census information, phone directories, obituraries, etc. Their records go back to the 1800's and you can even view the scanned images.

I have not tried the subscription services for either site.

Has anyone else tried any other sites or software?

bumping this up as an update... i started to use myheritage.com... seems pretty good so far... i wish there was something that could export a .doc or .xls with the full graph/tree that i could distribute to the other family members...
