My 2010 TL (Base) cabin noise is noticeably louder than my dad’s 2016 Tacoma truck. I’ve done the triple door seal DIY which helps some but at highway speed my wife and I are still having to raise our voice to understand each other over the noise. What are some other effective noise reduction options for my car, besides cranking the stereo up? I’ve looked into rubberized undercoating spray for the wheel well but not sure how effective that is.
has any window tint been applied? If yes, some installers cut the rubber wipers that seal against the glass allowing in a lot of noise. You can look into sound deadening under the carpet and door panels such as mass loaded vinyl or carpet padding.

yes all the windows have been tinted prior to my getting the car. How can I check to see if the rubber wipers have been cut? Any pictures of what stock looks like?
I would definitely go down the path of sound deadening the floor carpet. What’s a good link on how to get access to below the carpet? I’ve already taken the back seats out but haven’t gotten access to under carpet.
I've always wanted to try this, and decided to take a long weekend and give it a shot. I used Noico, bought off Amazon at $65 a box (36 sq ft), which was much cheaper than Dynamat. As far as the results...the car is definitely quieter and the miscellaneous vibrations and minor rattles that were present when driving down the road have been virtually eliminated. I haven't done the hatch area yet. Those panels are a lot more tricky to remove. On the plus side, it looks like Acura's done a much better job with sound deadening in the hatch area than my 1G RDX (when I removed that panel, it was just bare metal).
Overall, I recommend it if you have a few days to kill. In all, it took me 22 hours (including cleanup and putting everything back together). It could probably be done in less time, but I also took apart the console and applied adhesive-backed rubber to all the screw holes/joint areas. The console was the only thing that rattled in my car, especially near the touchpad. It's absolutely rock solid and doesn't rattle at all now.
I’m looking to get some MLV for noise damping treatment of the cabin floor, 4 doors, and the trunk area. Does anyone know approximately what square footage I’ll need for the above areas?

Roll down the window and shine a flashlight on the edge of the door panel and window trim (exterior) and you'll see the wiper for the inside of the glass and on the outside you'll see the wiper. When shops tint they cut the interior one so the tint will not get scratched.
Take out the front seats, center console and rear seat bottoms to remove carpet. I'd also do the doors too.

Solid advice. I’ll set aside the task for the upcoming week. Going to remove the rear deck and C pillar to deaden the deck and roof area. My understanding is that there’s a non reusable clip in the C pillar that will need replacing for reassembly. Any specific part numbers for that?
I used the same brand in that diy @justnspace Linked to for my trunk and rear deck. Works well and really cheap. A tip if you’re going to rip your center console out. Get yourself a magnet extension because you’ll need it when you drop a screw while putting things back.

Not sure but you can cheat and deaden the underside though the trunk area instead of having to take apart the rear deck.

Haha. I already dropped a screw in the center console already while trying to route my backup camera wiring.
I haven’t taken the center console out, but is there a specific reason for removing it for sound deadening? Lots of carpet or space below it?

the carpet is in 1 piece I believe and the center console holds it down. You might be able to bend the carpet out of the way with the center console attached but it'll be way harder.

as mentioned @csmeance , the carpet is one piece and the center console holds the carpet down. So if you plan on deadening the floors, removing the carpet will make it easier. I’m old so my memory isn’t all there, but I don’t think there’s any deadening material under the center console at all. It’s just all sheet metal.

The center console will need to come out since the armrest leather needs replacing and recushioning. Thanks for the advice guys.
