King of Pain...*laughing* Funny how people posts things over and over isn't it! You should have seen how many times I saw pics of an 2005 Accord as the 2009 TSX!! I was just as frustrated as you, some people don't think before posting. There will be 3 trim with the TL, 2 of which will be SH-AWD...

Bad News
I think if the New TSX is better looking than the 09 TL then it is bad news, i was holding my breath for 09 TL, but have decided to go with 2005 BMW 745 i, 33K miles for $34K, is that a good buy, any thoughts?.

As far as BMW, I find their design a bit bland and feel you need to spend too much to get the luxury feel (leatherette seats sucks). I was debating to hold off on the TSX to see the TL because I like the design of the current TL over the TSX but after seeing the pics, I went with the TSX afterall.

So I guess you missed the whole "Stay on topic" thing on the last page or 2.

It's posts like this that get me in trouble. I make a smart-ass remark and then people call me names.

My thoughts are that this thread is about the 09 TL and any useful information people may have about it, not about a BMW.

c&d's render is pretty off other than the grill. looking at the closeup of the grill, it has the same style as the old tl where there are rectangular "vents" on each side leaving the middle solid for the license plate.
honestly, modify the grill and the ugliness will go away. but seriously, the grill would probably look the "best" on the tl... not saying its a pretty sight, but it'll still look decent from that stupid close up.
just my opinion, but again modify the grill and it'll look pretty good.... people will still buy it..
the rl and tsx have jdm parts to "fix" the grill as well.

Am I just being a wistful thinker when I ask if there is a possibility of there being a CL based on the 4g TL?

There has been a lot of speculation and/or hope for TL-based coupe ever since they killed the CL.
There is a nice Photoshop of what a 3G coupe might have looked like on page 1 of this thread.
IMO, there is a slightly better chance in the 4th Gen just because of the 335i Coupe and the G35/37 coupe.
Somewhere there was also speculation of an Acura based on the S2000.![Dunno](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/dunno.gif)
IF (BIG, BIG IF) it happens, I'd expect a launch a year or two into the model; maybe the same time as a Type-S launch.

There haven't been any coupes tested though. At least, not one that was presumed to be a TL coupe/CL.

I went to the Acura service center and had to go on a test drive to see what's wrong with my car.
During the test drive I asked if the service guy knew anything about the TL and oh man.. he blurted out the most disturbing things
- tl convertible
- tl coupe
- v8
- turbo
- awd
I took everything with a grain of salt. The only thing likely is the awd option.. can we get a sneak peak at it already.. geez.. they are keeping their mouth shut tight on the looks of the TL. My bet is that it'll have that ugly grill though. I really wish they make it look like the MDX grill..

I figure it's disturbing because the Tech is so clueless about the cars his company makes/is planning on making.

Ventitlated seats?
Can one of the dealers who have seen the 09 TL confirm or deny whether the 09 TL will have ventilated seats as part of one of the package levels? I'm hoping so - the ES350 does.

Will the new auto have 5 or 6 speeds?
Is the TL in Car And Driver (once and for all) the real TL?
Will there still be a manual transmission?

Full of water...
ok, so my step dad said that he saw a TL commercial today. he said it had a dude using a computer and adding all the features he wanted to the car, and then at the end you saw the back of the car with the dude driving away in it. he said it was "for sure" a TL commercial, and he said the only time he saw the car was at the very end, and it was really quick.
now i dont want to flame him, but i am pretty sure he either saw a TSX commercial or a 3G TL commercial. my internet is running really slow tonight so i am having trouble searching youtube or the web in general. can anyone confirm my thoughts ,and or, has anyone seen this commercial recently? i want to say i have, but i cant be sure.

Although it would be cool for a TL coupe, TL sedan and then to have the Type S variant of each and then the Type R variant of each with the V8...it could go directly with M3 in that sense as it'd be sedan and coupe.
TL - 280
TL SHAWD - 305
TL Type S - 340
TL Type R - 410
There's a 99.999% chance it won't happen, but we can dream!

Edit: If a mod can merge this with my post above, that'd be helpful, i took too long to edit.

TL - 5 series, Infiniti G, Audi A6 and the like
The TSX can't even compete with others as it has a 4cyl motor and doesn't rank at all with the competetors, but in size it will.
For the RL, if it is still around, you can count on being bigger, maybe to the size of a 750i, but defenatly not to the size of the elongated ones.
