good lookin' out, bro. thank god that thing was a fake! now i don't feel so bad for being the first one to break the news about the photo on A-Zine. but damn, can we get some real pics of the 4th gen?!?! how do dealers expect to get pre-orders for sept/oct if we haven't seen the car until july/august. and really, i think a bunch of us on here want to know if we should keep/mod our 3rd gens, or save our money for *what could be* a bad-ass 4th gen. get it together acura!

The C&D photo is obviously just the TSX.
Nobody should have needed any confirmation of that, just look at it.

I find it interesting that it's listed as FWD only still.

And with only the same 3.7 the '09 RL has.

This C&D article, plainly, is a load of crap.

I KNEW it! I just got done reading that article in C&D and i was really upset. That thing looks like a turd. For some reason something didnt feel right, i am glad i was right. I didnt think any pics were suppose to come out till later this summer. This is just making me more anxious!!!

Wow. As happy as I am to know that is definitely not the TL, I am very disappointed.
This was obviously an elaborate attempt to draw out the real pictures of the TL, so that Acura could save face. C & D should have made the picture even uglier. They should have made it look more like the MMC RL. LOL!

I honestly don't think Acura will mess up on their best car

Living in Canada, and being only 18, I really hope Acura makes a nice 09 TL.
Wishing it won't cost anymore than $50,000 before taxes for the awd one.

If it's ugly, I'll prob go for an 06 MT and throw in all the goodies. Maybe even a supercharger...

Let's just hope for the best

That pic is supposedly the next gen RL with a V8, but I would love for that to be the next TL, I mean really, do we really need the RL anymore? The MMC is a bad move for Acura stylewise, although it has some really nice features. I thought Acura would move the TL upscale to kinda slot where the current RL is and also move the TSX up closer to the current TL's slot, but the new TSX, while nice with nice features, only has 201hp at the moment. Anyway, I would hope for a discontinue of the RL, move the TL and TSX upscale (that C & D photochop was probably a TSX Type-S), then bring back the original Acura Flagship...LEGEND. I know I went off topic, but I've just started back drinking coffee

the photochop was the new accord body with the new TSX front. there was a link that showed the chop, and they said it was the TSX front and rear, but there is a new Accord sitting in front of me right now and all they did was slap the TSX grill on an Accord body. The rear/trunk area in that chop is way to long to to be a TL or TSX.

2009 TL is on this month car and driver magazine on page 44. I think that this shit looks ugly! Go check it out. 300 hp and front wheel drive. It looks like an oversized TSX.

Except that the Saturn looks much better. Truly, except for the Vue SUV, I'd say Saturn is generally beating Acura in the looks department (aside from the current TL).

Here's hoping the new TL returns the proper state of balance to the world.

I think i just saw the new 09 TL in two different Acura commercials.. I am watching the Rockets v Jazz game and Acura has ran two different commercials.. Both have a sliver acura in them.. Looks like a TL.. Too small for the RL and too big for the TSX.. it is f-ing phat... Man!!!! Has a pop us navi screen, the grill is killer.... Please tell me someone else saw these commercials...

Depends on which one you have.. If you're a TiVo user and savvy you can transfer it to your pc; if not you can just pause it during the TL commercial and snap a pic, post it on Acurazine for authentication and inspection..

You guys need to go down to your local Acura dealers and see the TSX in person, because these pics and the Acura website doesn't do the car any justice at all. I went to get an oil change yesterday and a sales guy I know let me check it out, and we went on a test drive. Let me tell you, I was very vocal about the lack of Hp in the new TSX, but that thing is a ROCKET. I couldn't believe how fast and powerful it was, especially being that it's a non-turbo 4 banger. Acura did some nice things with it, especially the sound system. They have finally answered my prayers, so if the new TL's sound system is at least equal to the TSX I'll be very happy. One thing I didn't like was the quality of the dash board. It doesn't feel cheap, but it sure does look cheap as hell. The sales guy said Acura is using a different material for their dash boards to avoid the white film/dusty look problem some earlier 3 gen TL's had.

I asked him about the new TL and he said that only the actual owners of Acura dealerships were allowed to attend the unveiling of the TL in New Orleans, and they're sworn to secrecy. They were given a briefing on the next 5 years of Acura products and the new direction. But, he said that the owner did say that the new TL is going to blow away the competition in all facets (including hp!), and that it WILL BE THE BEST LOOKING CAR ON THE ROAD, hands down! Stated that it looks much better than the current TL, which I find hard to believe, but I guess Acura was really saving their best design for the TL, which makes sense because it's the most important vehicle in their lineup. Oh, and I tried out the iPod/MP3 port in the TSX and it works lovely. No more skipping/pausing issues, disabling XM and messing around with the iPod itself while you drive. You just plug it in (using a special white USB cable) and control everything from the audio system using the dial/knob. It displays the artist, song title and album title (sorry, no album art ). All this has me very excited about the '09 TL, as if I wasn't excited already.

I agree. I went up to my local dealership to have my car serviced and I'll have to admit, that new TSX looks very nice in person. I'm excited about the 09 as well. I might have to buy one used 4 or 5 years down the road from now if it lives up to the hype!
