For the price, which is in the high 60K range.... the IS-F is a joke.

It's a IS350 with more power, and a few add-ons... so why almost double the price?!?!?!

For the same money, the new M3 sedan, or better yet, the new GTR are MUCH better cars!

Here's a poor photoshop of the grille in body color. I think this is a quick change they could make without delaying production that would at least help, because it takes much of the emphasis away from this huge thing. Maybe adding some thin silver trim in strategic locations around the edges would be nice too.

Ok, we've now seen the grills for the new RL and TSX, and it looks like the TL's will be the same. I think if they went with the MDX grill it would have been an improvement. At least that grill could be modded to look better. The RL/TSX/TL grill with that high, thick cross-bar is just hiddeous beyond repair.

I'm sure the Acura designers could have went many directions with their grill design. They went for the gamble, and its going to flop. It's a total deal-breaker for me. Hopefully there is still time for them to change the TL.

Obviously some of you aren't reading all of the posts...when the 2G came out, it had more HP than the RL at the time. Therefore, it's possible for the 4G to have more HP than the RL this time.

What do you think about this?...It looks like the tsx grille is goign to stay the same color as the body paint. Any chance the tl is goign to end up this way? I kind of think i like this better than the chrome yelling at us. What do yall think?

Honestly, I think it's an improvement for the RL although it has lost some of the luxury aspect.

The TL always looked much better than the RL, hopefully it will be the same with the 09.

Honestly I had the exact same thought yesterday after I passed an Aztec. If they had released that on April 1st I would feel much better. Now all I can do is pray that they don't mess up the TL in the same way.

Half of you just like to jump on the bandwagon. Comparing an Acura RL to an Aztec? WTF are ya'll smoking? The car is a refresh not a new platform.....it's a little more than a major refresh because of slow sales. But this car looks nothing like an Aztec or whatever lame vehicles some of you are comparing it to.
One guy says it looks like crap.....everyone chimes in saying the same shit.
Personally i think it looks nice....would i buy one? Probably not. Im more of a performance or sport oriented driver but to each their own. BMW owners did the same shit with the new Chris Bangle design direction.....but they still went out and bought it......they didnt jump ship to merc or lexus.
For those of u who seem offended by the new design direction.....go get a Genesis or some BMW!

I still say the design leaves something to be desired, and the grille is ugly as fuck! If the TL had a grille like that, but I liked the rest, then I would just mod it like I did the one I have now, so no prob there playboy!

As for the Giants ...my 'SKINS whipped their Super Bowl weak ass the last time we played them - IN NY ...how bout dat shit, how bout dat??

To keep in line with what I've said before regarding the new TL -

Over 300 hp
SH-AWD
Greatly improved interior (and I really like the current one)
Front end pics I saw are not as bad as the RL, so don't sweat it
Rear end will have some scratching their heads, IMHO

I know nothing of whether or not it will be offered as FWD and/SH-AWD, I just know of the SH-AWD being offered to clarify.

In regards to the semi-off topic stuff, I'm on board with the RL looking amazingly ugly from the pics. I go to the Chicago Auto show tomorrow to see the monster in person.

from that view, it doesnt look that bad. ^ reminds me of a 2g TL.

I think its mainly the grille, with the headlights coming in a close second, that screws the whole thing up.

I am going to see it tomorrow. But form the photos it looks like an accord. The build quality and materials just seem cheap. I think Acura really screwed up with this car. However the press release of the accord was the white one which didn't look that nice. In real life they do look alright. Hopefully I change my mind seeing the RL in person but until then I am on the "bandwagon" of those who think this is one ugly car.

Vetalik - no can do on the pics. My person would lose their job if it was known, simple as that. I saw them a while back by luck more than anything else, and they were still f-ing around with the engine to make sure the SH-AWD was going to be strong enough to spec out well against the comp. At the time, it did not. We'll see......

I don't think that it's ugly as much as it just looks like a slightly bigger Accord. I think that the current TL looks better....doesn't bode well for the 4G TL design....hopefully I'm wrong.

With seeing the 2009 RL, it seems like this spy photo could have been the RL. You can see a lot of similarities in the spy photo and the release images. Maybe there is hope that the 4g TL!!!!
