TPMS removal?

Can the TPMS be removed with the tire still on the wheel? This is on an 07 TL-S.

I had mine removed with out dismount the tire from the rim. You will still require a shop do it as the need to deflate the tire remove the TPMS and replace it with a regular valve stem.

Pretty much the same process as removing the tires.

^ the shop will follow the same process of removing the tire except actually removing it

They just break the seal between tire and wheel, then reach and detach the TPMS.

It's my understanding that if you do not reinstall the TPMS, your idiot light will stay on in your dash. Why not get new shoes with TPMS?
Since over 95% of the aftermarket wheels won't fit a TL-S due to clearance problems with the Brembos, it shouldn't be hard to do. It's a good safety feature to have IMO.

It will definately have TPMS on the new shoes. I was planning on having Discount Tire move the OEM TPMS from the stock wheels to the new ones.

the tpms unit has a nut on the valve side that has to be unscrewed.

Just to clarify, the stock TPMS can be removed from the stock wheels and put on aftermarket wheels? Im planning on putting them on my volk wheels. im getting tired of seeing that warning light.

Yes...

But you're gonna pay a shop to $75-$100 to dismount your stock tires, remove TPMS, install rubber valves, remount and rebalance your stock wheels.

Why not pay $140 for 4 brand new sensors to be installed in your new wheels? Then you're stock wheels are interchangeable...

soooo. I was being stupid when I installed my TE's w/o thinking about TPMS sensors.....

Now, they are installed and don't feel like taking my wheels to the shop and then have them redo it all over again so I was wondering if there's any way I can take that TPMS light out?? Is there like a fuse or wire or anything to disable the TPMS light from coming on?

hmm.. how about in reverse?

Say you have brand new wheels w/ tires already on em..

and you want to put in TPMS. will they just deflate.. install TPMS, and voila?

Alright so all i have to do is buy 4 new sensors and have those installed and they'll work perfectly fine?!

Are there different sensor sizes and stuff or is it a one size fits all kinda deal?

AirJordan you pushin an 04 TL right??? 04 did not come with TPMS, so then yeah it will cost you a pretty penny because you need the sensor, receivers, transmitters, terminal....

The TPMS will automaticlaly readjust pressures and reactivate itself once you get the rolling on the new Sensors, it will show 59psi in the beginning but then drop back down to what the actual pressure is after a few miles.

i just talked to my homie who works at the dealer and says that TSX TPMS are not the same.
I just need confirmation right now that the MDX/RDX TPMS will fit on the TL-s..

can anybody confirm?

I don't see why 07+ MDX sensors would not work, but why don't you just get the TL sensors --->06421-S3V-A04

--->http://www.hondacuraworld.com/Mercha...=06421-S3V-A04

Just confirmed they work fine on 07 Type-S this afternoon.

well, having a variety is good.
Our sensors our $40 a piece.
the other sensors are cheaper than that and ebay has a lot of TPMS sensors availalbe also for a lower cost.

My friend's dealership is out of stock right now so i'm just looking for alternatives.
I found a deal for 4 @ $80 shipped but it's for the 07+ MDX
