Calling ALL OFFSET MASTERS

I am looking for a new set of wheels now that I sold the SSR Competitions.
I have a 2004 "Automatic" TL, and am 1" lowered on Comptech Springs.

The wheels I am looking at are 18x8 and come in 40mm and 30mm. They are the Privat Reserve (7 split spoke). I would like to get them in silver. I plan on running 245-40-18 tires (245 for more sidewall protection against curb damage).

Which is the SAFER offset to go with. I don't want any rubbing at all. 40mm, or 30mm?

I appreciate any feedbacks.

30 would be fine and would give you a wider track width, i run 245 35 19 on 19 x 8's with 30mm offset and dont rub being dropped on 1" comptech springs and koni yellows on the lower spring perch. Rims and tires look much better w the 30mm as the wheel sits right at the edge of the fender instead of being "tucked" in

+30 would look alot better, but with 245 you might have to worry about rubbing a little but then again you're planning on 18's and only 1" drop.

It also depends on the type of tire, for example Falkens normally have thicker sidewalls so from the rear they look like this | | meaning they are more prone to rubbing.

I had a +30 offset, on 19x8 wide rims with 245 wide tires and they rubbed a little on hard dips..but I was lowered a lot.

Thank You all for all the feedback. I think I will play it safe and settle for 40mm offset. The hard thing is to find the wheels in silver. Everyone carries the grey color. If I have to, I'll settle for the grey finish.

Go to Action Tire in Lodi, NJ on Route 46... Joel would be able to locate those wheels for you...

Good Luck

Rodney,

Thanks for the info. I called Joel and he found the Privat Reserve wheels in Silver.
I will go with 245-40-18 Falken FK-452's.
