Replacement tires

Trying to decide between
Michelin Primacy Tour All-Season Highway - 235/45R17/XL 97W Tire or the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ - 235/45ZR17XL 97Y Tire

Need to replace my tires. Found a deal on some Bridgestone last time I replaced them but they were very noisy. Looking for a quieter tire this time around.

as you found out, choosing tires is experimental... if you liked a certain tire, keep buying that same tire.

Michelin tyiz are like Starbucks coffee - Overrated and overpriced!

I vote for General GMax AS-05's. Best bang for the buck. No issues with handling or wet / winter traction.

There's been a lot of threads on tires lately. Do a search and you'll find a plethora of suggestions.

I liked the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S which came on the car when I bought it, but I'm not willing to pay the premium to replace them with new ones. My favorite are Continental DWS06. I also had good luck with Pirelli Cintauro, though they seem to be getting louder as they wear. I don't think I'll be purchasing them again.

The two tires you listed are in completely different categories. If you value smooth and quiet, the Primacy is the clear winner. However as others have already stated, there are gobs and gobs and gobs and gobs of discussions in the past 6 months talking about tires on what everyone likes. Pretty sure the 4-5 of us that have responded this so far can't agree on what the "most bestest" tire option is because we all have different reasons and requirements and we all are the usual suspects in almost any tire discussion on here lately.

Here is one of the most recent ones: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-t...05-6mt-979676/

Primacy will be quieter but won't have much dry, wet and snow grip as the A/S3+.

The Pirelli P7 Cinaturo is a great choice also!

Data from TireRack testing would not agree with this. I'm not going sit here and say the Primacy will handle as well at the limits.

EDIT: Then again, I may be mixing up the Premier A/S vs the Primacy Tour A/S????

I swear by that high octane oil, myself. The all season, synthetic stuff. Sure, it doesn't grip as well in the snow, but it rides more smooth and quiet (like I like my women?). 0w-91 octane with a high treadwear rating, baby.
