How much does a pair of the HID headlamps typically cost. I did some checking, and the lowest I saw for direct replacement was about $90. Is this right?

 

Are you referring to the actual housing or just the bulb?

 

no that is not correct that is for the BULB only and they wont match our ballast.

 

I'm talking about the bulb itself. Is there a direct replacement, or do you have to replace everything?

 

I'm not to sure on the price.....seems kind of low. When I went to the dealer a few months back they normally charge $220 but they were running a discount at $150 per bulb when I went in. Are you looking d2r's

yup.. get the bulbs through akinaboy, you save more money with the same product.

 

You may want to replace both at that point so the colors will match. Xenon is yellow and over time turns more blue, so your old one and new one won't match colors. Alternativelly, I think phillips offers ones that are more blue from the start to match better.
