Spark plug replacement / coil replacement DIY video
Spark plug replacement / coil replacement DIY video
I made a DIY video for how to replace spark plugs and coils. It's not a hard procedure at all, but figured this might be helpful for people who like to see a process before tackling it themselves. The existing text/picture DIY has many photos that are falling prey to Photobucket's bandwidth limitations and are no longer visible, so figured this video could supplement the previous DIY thread (which is available here: https://acurazine.com/forums/second-...ge-diy-760163/ ). I'm not re-typing the step-by-step instructions because bruistopher did such a nice job with the aforementioned link, and I don't want to copy/paste his work.
Before starting you'll need to gather:
Flat head screwdriver
6mm Allen wrench (also called hex key)
Ratchet
6" extension
5/8" deep well socket (also called a spark plug socket)
Anti-seize
Six NGK Iridium IX spark plugs (these come pre-gapped)
Six coils, if replacing them (I used Drive Works brand because that's what Autozone had available). I elected to replace my coils because I had one fail last month at 260K miles, so figured it would be better to just replace the remaining five now.
And without further ado, here's the video:
