Thanks so much for all the info guys! This was a great find and the wheels look awsome on the TL. Does anybody have any picks from behind? I am just wondering how much fatter the tires look compared to the oem 235/17's. I am hoping for a much more agrresive, dare I say BMW look. I always thought the stock tires looked way to skinny for the car and the 17's in combination with the skinny tires kinda gave it a clown car look. lol. sombody please post some pics from the rear to show how wide the 245/35/19 look.
I have a feeling this will turn into lowering the car next, when will it end?

Does it increase my risk of getting a flat tire or bending a rim with the 245/35/19 over the stock 17's. I guess what I am asking here is will my TL become more fragile then it already is?

I have ordered my wheels from e bay for $560 to my door. Now i will have to find some tires. I am thinking about getting the Continental Extreme Contact DWS in a 245/35/19 for about $780 shipped to door. I live in VA so we get all kids of weather from snow to extreme heat so this seemed like a good choice. Anybody else have this tire if so what do you think of it? They are not cheap but they are not the most expensive either.
So this seems to not be a popular size at the tires stores around here so this brings up the question and forgive my ignorance here but what do you do if you get a flat after the RDX wheel upgrade, use the spare 17? Also i was thinking and if these wheels are discontinued by Acura what happens if we damage a rim in normal day to day use, just a thought. Sorry for the fifty questions guys.

That really sucks man! Sorry to hear that your having such a tough time with this! My experience was pretty good. In and out in about 45 minutes so i'm still a little confused as to why your having such a tough time. Is there something special about these wheels/tires that makes mounting so difficult? Is it the tire size? I'm running 245/35, but i know there are others on this thread that have mounted 235/35.

finally got these things on. had to go with new tires- 235/35/19 nexen's. went on with no issues. the cars dropped on tein s tech's. next up aspec kit...

The diameter of the wheel w/tire 17" vs. 19" barely changes so long as you get a 35 series sidewall on the RDX wheel. That being said, if you do get a flat tire, you can use the the spare donut or use the stock 17" just to get you around.
Obviously i dont recommend this for long term use, but it'll get you to the tire shop at least.
The 17's have a lot more rubber protecting the rim so they have less risk bending the rim, but the likely hood of getting a flat is probably the same for both tires...

Thanks. The nexens cost me $600 including mounting and balancing. I had the fogs wired to be independant and had the accord switch installed by a local shop when I had my windows done, so I'm not sure how hard it was. I can tell you that plenty of members on this site have done it themselves though

Well that makes sense, I appreciate the answers. Now if I could only see some pictures from behind to see how wide the 245/35/19 are. Do they look much more wider than the stockers? I have always hated how skinny the stock 17's were on the car.

I dont have pics but if your goal is to go wide, then 245 is as wide as you can go on an 8" wheel.

The 245/35/19 is probably the way that I am going to go but i sure would like to see what the profile/stance looks like in the form of a picture before i drop $800 into tires. Ever started something and spent a bunch of money and then go, why the hell did i spend money on that?

Great picks Gerzand! That is almost what i have been asking for all week! Do you have one from the back which shows how wide the tires are? How do those tires do in winter? Are they smooth and quiet?

I can take a rear pic. I don't run my nice rims in the winter, though the general altimax weren't horrible in the snow when we had a random spring snowfall.

^^ I agree man... i dont mind the sparkle silver, but i would love to get mine done in a graphite finish... not as dark as the Type S wheels, but something more along the lines of Ron Jon's Liquid Graphite finish....
How much do you guys think it'll cost to get these wheels refinished??

Thats a good look the darker colors blend with the color on the a-spec front and rear so well , sparkle matches the grill . Black with the darker color blends good .
I'm sure they can be powder coated or even painted maybe about 100 a rim I'm guessing

My original plan was to have them powdercoated. I took them to the mediablaster and they had a difficult time getting the basecoat off of the wheel. They failed to get every small bit of it off, and advised me they couldnt be powdercoated bacause of this (needs to be 100% bare aluminum).
So, off to the painter they went...needing to be sanded from the moderate pitting of the aluminum that happened from the agressive mediablasting that was completely necessary to get these wheels clean.
If I had to do it again, I would have just had a painter scuff up the wheels, and apply their paint directly on top of the original finish. Powdercoating these wheels is next to impossible unless you can find someone to chemically strip them...or take a chance on getting some Aircraft paint stripper, and do it yourself??!! lol
Prices were as follows:
$20/wheel to mediablast (but im friend with the owner, so $0)
$25/wheel to powdercoat (a crazy cheap company around here). Powdercoating usually runs $40-$50 a wheel.
$300 to prep/paint a solid color WITHOUT a painted pinstripe, or....
$400 to prep/paint WITH a painted pinstripe.
