RDX 19" ACCESSORY WHEEL on 5AT TL

In my search for 19" wheels, I randomly came across a set of brand new OEM 19" RDX Accessory wheels. They are now discontinued, so dealers are selling the set new for under $600 shipped. At less than half of what I was going to spend going aftermarket, this has me more than curious.

The wheel comes in "Chrome Look" and "Sparkle Silver." In some pictures the Silver looks bland and in some the Chrome Look seems super shiny.

I saw a few other old posts about putting them on a TL, but I have only seen it done in one pic. I think I'm going to do it, but I can't decide between the colors. It's for an anthracite 5AT. What do you all think?

Silver

Chrome

Here I like the chrome, but when I see actual shots of them in the light, I don't like it as much...

I have never liked chrome rims on anything. They just look too bling for me. I like the silver ones. They look real close to aspec rims. Damn that rl is hot yo...

Got Em

I took the lowest ebay buy now price of $500 shipped and went to my local Acura dealership and surprisingly he matched it. The invoice has a list price of $525/wheel, so I'd say I got a pretty sweet deal. Based on the feedback and the pictures I've seen, I went with sparkle silver. One sweet thing I noticed is that it came with 6 (odd) TMPS sensors. Since I have an 04 which to my knowledge doesn't use TMPS

**MOD EDIT** (If you want to sell something, post a thread in the Black Market)

Since I saved money on the wheels I decided to spend extra money on tires and got Toyo Proxes 4 245/35/19.

They are being installed Monday so I'll post pics soon after.

That is awesome. Will these fit on an '05 TL without any modifications?

As long as it is 5AT. I had the dealer mount them to check (granted without wheels). I will know for sure Monday when they mount them. I have heard they won't clear Brembos on the MT though. FYI several dealerships are still listing these on ebay for around 500

FYI they are 19" 45+ 8"

Nice! Post your pics in this thread when you get them. I'll also note that my local dealer had a sign up selling them for $600, so this seems like a national thing. I got the last one at my place. Before everyone rushes to ebay, try your local shop and see if they have them and will match.

I got them at my local Town Fair Tire. They said they retail for $250, had them marked as $230 and gave them to me for $200. Once you figure in the new stems, balance, alignment and everything it was about $950. I wasn't thrilled about spending that much, but since we saved so much on the wheels, it made sense to spend extra money on the tires-since looks aside- that's what really matters.

I am on stock suspension, so I know I will get posts telling me to drop. I am on absolutely terrible new england roads so I cant go any lower. Too risky.

^^^, yeah i dont mind splurging a little on tires considering the wheel savings. I'm in the same boat as you man, no drop either. and i know exactly what you mean about new england roads. lived in boston for the past 27 years and only recently moved to dallas. only downside i have is i wont have an excuse anymore! looking to pick up the neuspeed super cup kit in the next few weeks.

Teaser Pics

I just got back from the shop. Unfortunately the only camera I have on me is my Blackberry. I'm going to give the car a good wash and take real pics tomorrow. I'm happy with how it looks.

oh hell yeah!! I've been waiting on these all day! they look dope man!! Definitely post more pics when you can! It would be nice to see some high res shots. close ups and far away. very curious to see how much of a wheel gap you have with the stock suspension. to be honest, it doesn't look that bad from these shots you posted, for some reason i was expecting a lot worse!

Now I cant wait till mine come in!

Here's one more for you Tigga-also crappy but shows the side view a little better. I'll get the good pics up tomorrow night. I was afraid I wouldn't love the finish due to the name "sparkle" but it really looks good. Not nearly as flat as it looks in the stock photo.

damn, looks sick!! I went with the chrome. I know its not the more popular of the two finishes, but I like it and I think it'll look good on my NBP. ill post pics when I get the wheels and get em' on.

Sorry man. I had my camera with me yesterday morning and now it has gone missing. It's driving me crazy because I really want to post them. I'll borrow someones cam tomorrow if I have to.

As a side note, the car rides basically the same as with stock. The only thing I noticed is that it revs a little higher before changing gears-probably due to the increased weight. Mileage seems to be the same so far

i was looking into weights yesterday... stock wheels are 23-24lbs each and as someone stated above the rdx accessory wheels are 25 lbs each... not a HUGE difference so i cant imagine that impacting your revs.

I'll keep an eye out on my end, my wheel should be shipping out today.

For the record, those RDX 19" Wheels are more than 25 lbs, more like 27-28 lbs. the key is to weigh the Stock wheels and the 19" RDX wheels on the same scale.

Those look great man!

I like the style of the regular 18" A-Specs better, but I'm jealous that you have 19's.

I bought the chrome ones for my 06 Tl 6spd, dealer guaranteed they would fit, said they did their research before posting them on e-bay. Guess well see if they do when I get them.
