He means your car will be fairly high off the ground, you figure your running stock height, moving up to 18's and a 45 series tires will make it fairly higher so 4x4(4by-ish) is what he meant lol. Again you should be fine though, honestly i'd say do a 40 series at least

This is just an option I considered for a new setup. Now my question is what body work would I have to do for the rears to fit (pulling or rolling the fenders, or both). I'm looking for a tuck or a flush look but no poking, unless I have no choice with this setup. And please recommend what tire size I would need to run with to make this fitment work for the rears only. Please and thank you!!

the rears now thats just ridiculous lol that size rim is for like a wide body car like a g35.... no way you can make a 11.5" +9 fit without adding another 1"+ of fender to your car like viptl or decafe has done.... my rear spec is flush and no extra body work other than grinding off all the inner metal fender liner in the rear.

Questions on Wheels
Wheel Make/Model: Varrstoen ES 2.2.1
Wheel Size: 18x9.5"
Wheel Offset: +12
If lowered (amount): 2"/1.75" F/R
Tire Size: 235/40
Fenders Rolled: Yes
Currently I'm running 5Zigen ZR+520's in 18x8.5 +25 with no issues at -1º camber. Varrstoen says I would have to run a +12 offset in order to clear the Brembos on my 6MT. I was hoping to be able to run the +30 offset, but oh well. That being the case, I'm wondering how much camber I'm going to need to run in order to not rub.

Hey guys, Have been lurking for a while, have yet to post. Not new to the motorsports world, but new to the Acura world...
I went through quite a few pages and a few searches and I am having a problem locating an answer to my question, so I figured I'd throw in the towel and post.
2008 Acura TL Type-S 6MT, Air pressure sensors, stock ride height, looking for a winter wheel and tire combo.
What's the smallest wheel and what are anybodies suggestions out there for tire sizes? I'm assuming you can't run a smaller size than 18, but maybe you guys can help me with that? If there are a ton of threads on this topic, I apologize in advance, but I am having a hard time drilling down to anything that's specific to what I am looking for.
Just looking for a seperate set of winters/snows, so not looking to break the bank on a set that's only going to ride out a few months a year.
Thanks,
J

Snow Tires???
Can someone please help me out.. I recently purchased a set of Blizzak snow tires, mounted to Rial rims.. the tire size is 215/55/R16. I took them to a shop this weekend and the mechanic told me they would not fit my car? I bought these from an owner who previsouly had them on an 04 TL. I have an 06 TL/Manual/Nav. Any ideas?

You will need a camber kit up front and out back.... not sure what camber you will need to run because it just all depends on how low you are.... If I were you id run a 225/40/18 tire ... way less rubbing on this set up.... you will have the most issues up front trying to make a 9.5" wide rim with a +12 work..... backs wont be too bad.
Dont they offer a +22 offset??

I have camber kits front and rear right now. I'm dropped about 2" in the front and 1.75" in the rear (during the summer anyway), and as mentioned before all four fenders are rolled. I was hoping to be able to reuse my 235/40's and not have to run more than -2º or maybe -2.5º camber. They offer a +22 but they say that won't fit over the brembos with the 2.2.1.
crazy i thought the +22 offsets fit over the brembos.... maybe ask them how much of a spacer would be needed to make them fit over the brembos.... if you could simply run a 3 or 5mm spacer on a +22 then it will be a lot more doable than a +12. I am running a 9.5" wide rim with a 225 tire and top of tire is hidden under my fender and i rub on sharp turns when coming in and out of driveways and my offset is a +29 with natural -1.5 camber. with a plus 12 up front you would need to run a 225 it makes a huge difference and you would need to run like -4 camber if your lowered like me.

Question on Brembo/Big Brake Clearance
Transmission (Manual or Auto): Auto
Year/Trim (04-07, Base or Type S): 07/Type S
Wheel Make/Model: TSW Nurburgring
Wheel Size/Offset: 18 x 8.5 +45 OR 18 x 9.0 +32
If lowered (amount): A Spec suspension
I will be running a 245/40/18 tire size. If I'm understanding this correctly, either wheel will clear the Brembo brakes without the need of a spacer and tire size above will not rub with an A Spec drop. Right?
Which option will push the wheel out towards the fender more than the stock wheels?

^ you sir are correct I believe both should clear the brembos as well.
if you want to be "more" flush than stock go with the 18"x9" option you should be fine

Wheel Make/Model: volk g games
Wheel Size/Offset: 19x9.5 +20off. 225/40/18
If lowered (amount): not lowered but deciding to run H&R race springs
Will these rims fit? i dont mind if i have to roll or pull the fenders a little. Will the setup be reasonable with the race springs even though i carry 1 or 3 passengers from time to time. Any front issues?
I do plan to go coils but not as of the moment might go with springs since i can afford em as of now.

Anyways a 9.5" wide rim with a +20 offset and a 225 wide tire will work fine in the back with some natural camber from being lowered and rolling or cutting the rear fender inner tab.
The fronts can work too but will be more aggressive since the front has a narrower area to work with than the rear rim area of the car. I am running a 19"x9.5" +28 offset in the front with a 225/35/19 tire and I rub when turned sharp and hitting a dip or going into a drive way. It will probably be ok but just know it will rub in the front under tight turns while coming in and out of driveways etc...
coils would be best to get the perfect ride height but springs will do
Anytime
You should be perfectly fine and should run a 235/40/18 tire

My math says these wheels should stick out 16mm (~5/8") more than my 5Zigens. The Varrstoens are 9.5", that's 1" wider than the 5Zigens and only .5" of that is on either side. So the extra poke of the wheel should all be tire stretch. This is what makes me think -2º camber (maybe even less) should be okay. I just want a second opinion on the matter.
Here's a few reference pictures of how my car sits with its summer stance (2"/1.75" F/R drop, -1º camber all around):

Okay so I asked about the 3.3.1's (the CE28n knock offs) and they said a 18x9.5+22 will clear the Brembos. Do you think these would clear the fenders with rolled fenders, 235/40's, ~2" front/~1.75" rear drop, and around -2º camber?

i think you are fine with that set up and could even go with a 265 back tire if you arent going to run spacers to make those rims more flush.
