Questions on Wheels
Wheel Make/Model: Work Varianza T1S
Wheel Size (**X**): 19x8.5
Wheel Offset (+**): (not sure) 42?
If lowered (amount): 1 inch

Do you guys know what the largest offset we can get away with without sacraficing the setting on the car yet maximizing the lip size for wheels? I'm running a base 07 TL AT so I don't have Brembo's. The larger the lip the better but I also don't want to rub the calipers. Since these are custom build I can pretty much specify an offset. I just wanted to make sure I was able to maximize the lip size.

You can run a +35 offset without any issues of rubbing. And if you ever do decide to drop lower, its been proven (by Jay - Distorted Reality) That you can tuck if you run 225/35/19s.

And 215 if you want an even more aggressive offset

if you want a larger lip... 19x9 all around would work with a +40 offset ideally... but you can go as low as +38 and run 245/35-19... with an offset betwen +40 and +45 you can run 255/35-19

yeah i didn't want to feel every crack in the road so I was going to go 235/35/19. My boy has 245's and he was saying it felt rough even going that way and he has stock type-s suspension. lol

I just wanted to get as close to a 3" lip as possible without doing a 9.5 wheel. Just wondering if I can fart around with the offset a little to have a larger lip for the whip. I'm only doing moderate drop. I want to be able to ride 4 peeps in the car without my stuff dragging the ground.

In regards to the 245s, It comes down to which tires you want, the softer materials will def. make you feel more, whereas the UHP A/S will have you feel less.

But since you are thinking about getting 2pc you should be able to go low disk on both ends, and still clear your stock brakes, which will give you a nice lip. And like Al said you can go with a 9" wheel, But If you are running stock brakes (ie not the brembo brakes) You can actually run +35 since your drop is going to be just 1".

My recommendation, find an aftermarket wheel shop who is willing to work with you and do some test fits. That way you can be positive before you make such an investment

iForged aero

20 x 8.5 front
custom offset (they don't reveal offset?)
what size tire?

20 x 9.5 rear
once again custom offset
what size tire?

will be dropped using tein ss. can i go 2"?

iforged is suggesting I do 9" width on the rear as they think 9.5" will rub. I told them that I have seen a few TLs doing 10" rear without any problems. Do you guys think I should go with their suggestion? I like big lips so I am worried that the 9" will not look that different from the 8.5" in the front.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

25 offset - need about a 13mm spacer (Not recommended)
35 offset - need 3-5mm spacer
38 offset - should not have issues

Since you have brembos up front, you want to do a high disk up front, and a low disk in the rear. With the low disk you will have a larger lip.

It is possible to run 9.5 in the rear, but you may not be able to drop 2" like you want.

Damn missed this thread, but yeah I run a 19x8.5 wheel with a 35 offset with 225/35/19 tires maxed out on tein basics.

Based on the offsets available for those wheels gotta go with +45 offset

With this wheel gonna be close as they only have +38 as a viable option. May have to run a 3mm spacer with it.

do you have your mind set on the 245/30/20? If not you could run stretched with a 225/30/20 if you have plans on dumping your tl

I'm pretty sure you remember me. But if not...

Questions on Wheels
Wheel Make/Model: MB Wheels Weapon
Wheel Size (18x9):
Wheel Offset (+38&45):
If lowered (amount):1.75" front, 1.5" rear neuspeed sport accord springs

Question is, you said the 38 offset would be aggressive but will fit. Discount Direct does not have an option of that for the TL, but have it supplied (guessing they think it won't fit the TL). How close of a fit would the 38 offset would be?

The look I'm really looking for is for the wheels to be flushed with the fenders.

Thanks Again.

Me personally with your drop that you will I have, I would do the +38.

Need to look at it like this, if you do a +38 offset; your wheel will stick out 20mm (1inch = 25.4mm) compared to where your stock wheels are.

If you do a +45 offset in a 9" wheel your wheel will stick out 13 mm

It should work. I am going to be doing a 255 all around on 20x8.5 with a +35 up front; and a 20x10 +45 in the rear

You're gonna be rubbing like crazy man, especcially taking hard turns causing the tire to scrape on the fender.

Consider 245's or even 235's?....maybe even 225?

The way I look at it, I was rolling with 245/35/19 on +35 offset wheels, had plenty of clearance. The Overall Diameter on those was 25.75, and section width was 9.64.

Now If I run 255/30/20 the Overall Diameter will be 26.02 and section width will be 10.03

and a 245/30/20 Overall Diameter will be 25.78 and section width will be 9.64.

I have a feeling I can run 255's up front, if not 255's then 245s for sure. Not like I am going to be able to slam anyways, cuz the rear won't allow me to slam or probably drop any lower than I already am, unless I run a negative 2 camber, which I dont think I will.

Ah, I thought you were slammed on coilovers?

You should be fine then. I was rolling the Pentas 19x8.5 +45 in the front on 245/35 and I would rub taking hard turns, but I'm dumped though. Just trying to look out

do you have your mind set on the 245/30/20? If not you could run stretched with a 225/30/20 if you have plans on dumping your tl

245.30-20 works on an 8.5 +35 easy.... I have a front camber kit for sale if you'd like to have it sit perfectly on both sides

So if I do the ADR Sterlings, 19x8.5 with a 38 offset, and do 245/35/19, that should be fine to fit over the TLS brembos, right?

What about if I do Falken Torque 5s at 19x8 with 38 offset, what tire size would be best?
