Key fobs both inop at the same time, hood pin switch?

I changed my fob battery and tested...all was well.
A couple hours later I changed my hood support shocks. The car remained unlocked so I never tested again afterwards. Several hours later I tried to lock the doors and no response from my fob. I go get my spare fob and same result, no buttons show any response.
So I'm thinking my hood pin switch that I assume is in the latch is not working.
Question for you guys, with the key in run, if you open your hood, does it show it's open on the dash?
Thanks
Brad

Not that I know of. Make sure your hood is closed all the way and try again.

This happened to me not 2 weeks after I got the car. Hood was slightly open and it would not beep like usual. Once I fully closed the hood it worked again.

The MID only shows the doors and trunk if they are opened. I just checked.

The hood was definitely shut, I even pb blastered the latch and cycled it a few times. I need to get at the switch wiring and try to jumper it.
Thanks for checking the dash display for me.

Does anyone know, if you open your hood and hit the lock or unlock button, do the lights flash or locks cycle?

Thanks,
Brad

The hood does not have a switch. You can lock and unlock the doors with the hood open. Unless you have an aftermarket alarm in which a hood pin would be added and you would not be able to lock, unlock or remote start the car when the hood is open.

I can confirm that you can still unlock/lock your door when the hood is not closed.
It just wouldn't beep (telling you something is still open).

Try reprogramming the keyfobs.
It doesn't take too long.

https://acurazine.com/forums/showpos...19&postcount=4

Before you reprogram though, and just to test if your keyfobs are still linked to your car, see if it says "Driver 1 Detected" when you click lock then unlock and open your doors.
It'll determine if it has something to do with the keyfobs linking to your car, or if it's the "locking" system that has a problem.

Thank you for testing that for me.
I tried going through that re learn process numerous times and could never get it to take, with either fob.
I'll have to check if it's still linked, while I walk up to it. I'm pretty sure it doesn't say driver 1 or 2 now though.

Thanks for the help
Brad

Ok so I went inside the car, and it says driver 2 detected (I use #2 fob personally). So it's detecting the fob, but still no response from any fob buttons.
Another strange thing is that even though the fob is detected, it will not change the seat settings when I unlock it and get in. I purposefully set the seat way off from my settings, got out, locked the car, and upon re entry it does not re adjust at all.
Another key note is that the driver door mounted memory settings don't work. I am parked, trans in neutral, park brake on and hit # 1 or 2 and no beep and no change of settings. If I push the memory button to the right it does beep though.

Any thoughts on any of this?
Thanks,
Brad

Can I get you to confirm that locking the doors from the inside works? (Using lock/unlock rocker switch beside handle)

I just went to confirm, the rocker switch does work with all locks.

While out there I re tested the driver memory settings, they did not recall what I had once saved. HOWEVER, I was able to re save a setting by pressing memo and then a number....now it recalls that number when the seat has been moved. It's like the car has forgotten its settings.
Key Fobs still don't work.

At this time I am not concerned with the memory seat functions as I was just reading in the owners manual that if you hit the lock and unlock buttons it will reset the memory functions. I probably did this at one time when I was trying to program my fobs.

Have you tried removing the negative terminal from the battery and waiting a while and then reconnecting?

Nope, but I'll go try now.

Luckily I see the radio and navi codes in the owners manual lol

Well tried it but didn't help at all. In fact now I have another issue. The navi is locked.
I found the factory unlock card for radio and navi in the owners manual, the radio unlocked fine but not the navi.

I'll do some searching on the web for fixes for that, but I'm guessing I'll have to wait until Tuesday when Acura is open so I can get a code from them with my serial number on the card that I hope is right.

Any more ideas on the fob issue anyone?

Thanks,
Brad

Just found out my dome lights don't work via pushing on lamps, rocker, or door opening. Mood lighting is fine just the domes. I'm not sure if this is only after the battery disconnect or has been there since fobs stopped working. And they don't work no matter where the overhead rocker switch is placed

Looks like you have the same problem as this guy:

https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-problems-fixes-114/help-keyless-entry-domes-not-working-844647/

Check the fuses.

This might be useful:

Alright guys, found the short term issue. It was blown fuse 6 in the under dash fuse block. I replaced it with another 7.5A and my fob works as do my dome lights.
hope it was a one time thing but all too many times blown fuses are signs of a short to ground or something like that. Time will tell.

Now to unlock my navi. Lol

Thanks guitalayer!
I actually found another post on here with the same issues. None of my searches showed related items that helped me until I noticed the dome lights went out too.

Again,
Thanks!

Glad you figured it out!

That fuse #6 can be pesky and it's not the first time I heard of that fuse going out.

Cheers!

Before you replaced the fuse, when you pressed the lock/unlock buttons on the key fob, did the red light flash on?

I'm having a similar problem with both my key fobs.

The red light on the fob did, yes.
If you mean the red security light by the door lock rod, I'm not sure.
