Keyless entry remotes not working...
Keyless entry remotes not working...
So I picked up my car from the body shop today after about 3 weeks of it being worked on.
When I got home And tried to use t keyless FOB to lock it, it woulnt work. I grabbe my spare ones and they wouldn't work either. None of the buttons work, no lock unlock or trunk release. Confused?
So I tried to program it again using the directions in the 3G garage. I also erased the memory by holding the homelink buttons until The light blinked. I tried at least 10 times and it didn't work.
I'm not sure what to do? I doubt it's the body shops fault. Only thing I can think of is I'm sure ye battery died for a few days while it was in the shop. I needed to input my password for the radio and navi. Could that be it?
Help guys! Anything but the dealer

would take a look at the instructions again for programming, or search for a thread on here i remember thinking the instructions are written very poorly after not being able to figure it out until i read someones tip on here. I don't remember what my issue was it was a while ago.
Bump.
Forgot to mention;
I had some work done on the driver's side door and they removed the doorhandle.
In order to do so, they took off the door panel and a few other internals in the door. Someone told me theres something in that door that controls the keyless entry...Is this true?
Is it possible they unplugged something and now it needs re-programming at the dealer? Or is it possible they may have just left it unplugged or something?
Any insight is appreciated...I should be taking it back in to them so they can have a look at it next week, but I'd like to find the problem and just tell them to fix it rather than having them try to find the problem.

Well. I guess nobody has had the same problem as me before. But just in case any body does in the future, I found the problem.
I took my car in to Acura to have an alignment (it was the last day of my 1 year warranty) and I mentioned the problem I was having to the service advisor. He said he'd take a look at it. They did the alignment and couldn't find the problem. After a couple hours of me waiting around, I asked on the status of my car. He said they were taking apart the door handle to see if there was a problem there. Just then, one of the service guys walked in with my keys.
He said he found the problem and took me into the shop to see it. Turns out, one of the GREEN connectors that connects to the bottom of the window switch board in the door panel was not connected all the way/not connected properly. Pretty weird that it only affected my keyless entry, and didn't affect any of the other features though. All my window switches and EVERYTHING else worked fine.
Problem solved. All my driver settings and key FOBs are working properly now after I programmed them using the very easy instructions in the 3G garage.

I took my car in to Acura to have an alignment (it was the last day of my 1 year warranty) and I mentioned the problem I was having to the service advisor. He said it was probably because I had installed a switchblade 07-08 key and that wasn't designed for the car. I explained that none of my fobs were working anymore, including my original ones. He then said they would take a look at it. They did the alignment and couldn't find the problem. After a couple hours of me waiting around, I asked on the status of my car. They didn't even charge me for the extra hour or so it took to find the problem...Pretty cool AND unlike a stealership to do anything for free. But then again it was 9pm and they were probably bored anyway.
