Thanks for clarifying Ray, Im not new to forums, so i do search everything before asking.

I did find some grille threads but I didn't find how you made yours so I asked the question.

To be honest I spend more time in the garage working on my car than on the internet
The TL is more of my family's car, I race my Impreza which I do all the work on.

A grille mod doesn't seem as hard as say building your own IC piping or intake manifolds that's all and I realy wasn't sure you guys were just giving me a hard time or what haha. On the other hand I am new to luxury car forums, so I admit I'm new to this in that sense.

Anyway, I really appreciate the help and posting the links for me.

Thanks!

You got it Kei!

BTW...my grille was created for me (with my direction and insight) by a local bodyshop guy. I didn't do the work myself. So I couldn't give anyone a proper DIY. But the guy I directed you to did a pretty good DIY. He has pictures in his DIY and everything. Plus instructions on doing the lower grilles. Good luck in your progress!

They're really dark and really blue. I'm not real enthusiastic about them at all.
I just got my 2 test emblems back today. 1 of them is much lighter and may possibly be closer to what you want. The other emblem came out dark and looks sweet as that is closer to what I want. I'll post some pics later in the week, probably thursday night. I have to head out to my parents for a couple nights as I've only gone home once a year for the past 4.5 years. Now that I just moved to 3 hours away, they expect to see me more... go figure.

Oops, forgot, the test emblems are the Rear A emblems. What else did you have done? Depending on what they are, I may be able to help you out. I want it dark and Alex can always add more color.

Buda, I had 4 pieces done. The hood trim, the lower grill wing and front/rear emblems. Snap a photo of what you got, maybe I'll trade emblems with you, get you a better match, and use the one you send as a "guide"... or maybe you'll want all 4 of my pieces?

Alex told me to send them back and he'd do them again. He said he follow the procedure he used to make the infinity emblem "this color":

as opposed to this color:

The emblems are starting to look much better. Good, because you guys can get those grilles done soon and inject some new grille blood into this thread.

Here are the pics of the test emblems from alex. Kennedy does the lighter of the two work for you?

Indoor picture

laying on sidewalk

lighter emblem

Darker emblem

I'm digging the darker emblem. I want it to look like it does on the side walk when putting it on the car in the last pic.

Tomorrow I'm heading back up to MN as there is an acura meet on Saturday that I helped organize. I'll get back to KC on Monday and then I leave on Thursday for Puerto Vallarta for 6 days.

I'll really try to get those instructions to you. If all else fails, just call me when doing the install. Do you need the instructions for taking off the trunk trim or just putting on the new CC lights?

I got um - thanks Buda Color match is good............

I'm also working on something with my extra stock grill pieces - not sure how it will all come together but I'm getting closer to making a decision on how it will play out. (Right now they are just collecting dust....LOL)

Cool. Post pics when they are up. I plan on sending the emblems back to Alex to go even darker when I get back from Mexico next week.

So after looking at all these pics, I want to do something to my WDP.

I was thinking of starting off small like with smoked chrome emblems.
I saw the smoked chrome in the pics above, but only on black, so I'm trying to imagine it on the WDP.

You guys think that will look good?

I think they will look great on the WDP, but like Kennedy ran into, you don't want to go to dark for a WDP IMO. However for my NBP I want it DARK!

Hey Darksom1, as you will get back from mexico before me. I am going to be painting the Aspec lips NBP when I get back. Also we should have talked about meeting up some place in mexico. It's hillarious that both of us will be in Puerto Vallarta at the same time.
