when i put the lugs back on, i put a thin plastic bag inside the lock key and then tightened the lugs down. that way, there was a barrier between metal on metal. didn't chip off anything, worked like a charm!

thanks, J. that is correct, this is only a temporary thing unless the color really grows on me. i'll def keep it purple through the winter, etc.

Wow looks really nice. I know you said the iPhone doesn't really do it justice, which I'm sure it doesn't. My only criticism is I wish the wheels were a little bit deeper purple to go with the NBP paint more. But then again that could just be the iPhone pics messing with me.

i was originally going to go with a plum dark purple but the final finish was too dark and i didn't think it would blend well with the dark paint.
for the lugs i sanded them down with some 300 grit paper, cleaned them with alcohol. did 2 base coats of lexus starphire pearl. then did 2 top coats of lexus pearl. then did 4 coats of clear.
they came out flawless, and like i mentioned before...you can prevent chipping the paint when you install them by using the plastic bag trick.

i use athletes tape on the inside and outside of the lug nut removed....but never thought about the plastic bag trick....gotta try it out

Haven't been in this thread for a while. Cars looking damn good. I like the purple forgestars, but probably would end up removing the plasti-dip after a couple weeks if it was me.

Anything out of the ordinary is usually touchy with me haha but I do like, just not for me.
Waddup man been really busy working and starting up school haven't been around too much. Lovin' the g8 just put a tune on it and it made it a completely different machine.

doing extravagant colors like this is not my thing either, but i honestly love how they came out. they look great in person and are different from the normal gunmetal look that everyone has.
