I don't have an extra, man...sorry!
I only have 1 of each too...the whole optimum line, and M105 and 205.
I have PC7424XP from Christmas 2 years ago.
Got the Makita rotary for Valentine Day this year...now that I have a better idea of what I'm doing, I'm very happy with the rotary...it makes things MUCH faster.

I guess no more fuel cut out at 130mph and gain about 20 WHP on the dyno.

alright everyone, saturday morning i drove up to my friend Bennett's (TLtrigirl's brother's) house to install and tune the J&R ECU. he has an EVO and is familiar with tuning software.

here we are doing the install. very straightforward. rodney sends everything labeled, so you literally just plug the corresponding connections to one another. took 5 minutes tops...which i was happy about.

i took a short break and walked over to see the dogs. Brady (my new best friend) actually belonged to Bennett and his wife Kristen. they were kind enough to let me adopt him a few months ago.

here he is, with his buds.

ok, back to the ECU. everything is hooked up and we reconnected the battery. time to start her up and see what happens.

success! started up just fine...actually, started up faster than usual. no crank, just started. pretty cool. no surging of RPM's...everything else remained functional. all looks good.

now we go out for some test runs to check numbers. the idea is to creep up in 3rd gear...stay in 3rd...and gun it to 80 without going to 4th in order to get clean numbers.

did a 40-100mph run and all i can say is wow. the car just SCREAMS AND SCREAMS. i was in 3rd gear the whole time and never even hit redline (7200-7300)...it just kept pulling and pulling. pretty amazing. pure, clean, uninterupted power all the way through the powerband. gnarly.

checked out the data log, pulls cleanly with 25+ degrees of ignition advance and AFR's in the high 11's. we decided it is a really safe tune where it sits currently (base map)...but we will experiment more once we have more time and roads without traffic.

drove all the way home, no CEL's...and power is smooth even in 4th and 5th gear. no more bogged down feeling...i'm anxious to get this dyno'd sometime soon to see where i sit.

the next day, got back in the car...started it up. 2 CEL codes...P0172 and P0175 (bank 1/2 running rich ). this is to be expected i suppose, and it's better to run too rich than too lean...but i'd still like to alleviate these CEL's all together IF that is a possibility.

seems as though the fuel trims are too far out. they were ok the day before, but that clearly changed. basically means the long term fuel trim is > -20%...the ECU is trying to pull a lot of fuel while at idle and cruise. not sure why the MS3 would mess up closed loop fueling like this unless it is throwing off MAF sensor calibration. i've been talking with rodney, and he told me to just clear the codes (which i did)...but they'll come back eventually.

i'd like to know what does the MS3 do with closeed loop fueling? or does the vehicle run in open loop all the time? if the latter is the case, then i can understand why CEL's occur. the ECU is trying to "correct" what the MS3 is doing but it cannot.

all in all, i'm extremely satisfied with this product...but am anxious to learn more about it and how to safely squeeze out maximum power while keeping a close look on lean/rich numbers. i already have a safe amount of timing AND no knock...which is awesome.

i can say the car pulls A LOT harder in every gear. since redline was moved to 7200-7300...the car just pulls and pulls like crazy. in the 40-100mph run we did, i was just trying to hit 80mph...i didn't even realize i was at 100mph until i glanced at the needle. pretty exciting product we have here...car feels like a whole nother animal now.

i'd like to thank everyone that helped make this happen, you know who you are.

Holy ECU...that came outta nowhere, nice! Loved watching the vids.

btw, you must be stalking my ebay account bc I just got these in the mail as well:

I'm 90% sure what color I'm going to go with on my calipers. If it's the same color you picked I'm going to shit myself. Maybe we should collaborate first LOL.

are you making $$$ contributions to this mod fund? i already had him bugging me about the j-pipe. plus the car still needs to pass the VA emissions. i'm still waiting on ritchie's j-pipe fitment for the MDX before i decide what i want to do.

next thing you know you'll be taking your car to the track with my brother too. ha ha ha!!!

nah...he' doesn't tell me anything...so typical of boys

no worries! jpipe is a no brainer...it'll pass emissions. no sensor in that cat, and most emissions testers wouldn't even know you're missing a cat down there. also, not sure about VA...but they don't visually inspect anything in MD.
