Don't forget to take that plastic part around the ski pass out, you'll get a bigger pass through so you can see more of your sub . It's looking good!

the reason why it's raised is because the floor of the trunk has that large piece of MDF laying there to support everything...thus, a slight raise.
thanks!
HEY! it was only $22 for all the supplies!

thanks ravi. i actually had the panel cut larger (for a more direct fit) but i couldn't get it into the trunk and had to shave off some areas. i think i will wrap some excess MDF in that carpet fabric, and plug up those areas on the bottom.

Nice vids, Aaron. I assume you knew the guy at the end of the first vid who walked up and started fingering your wheels?
My GoPro battery is pretty mediocre. I put it in my camera bag with a full charge last week and got it out yesterday and it was at about 50%. Not good. They're doing this on purpose so I spend more money on batteries and accessories. Bastards.

Whoa, trunk looks great man! I love it!
We need proper pictures of your car. The GoPro pictures and such don't do it justice.
That tC at C&C made me cringe.

Jeremy...LMAO.
Aaron, what video settings do you use? I'm usually in the default 960 mode, but it apparently isn't 1080p...I like how your youtube clips give you the option of 1080p HD viewing mode. Mine are only uploading at 720p HD.

I did an install in my old Maxima and what I did was the center was 1/2 inch plywood and I used thin panel board for the "flaps" on the side. I covered it all with one piece of carpet but the thin panel board side flaps were not attached to the ply so it could be easily folded to get into the trunk.

i feel the same way about the camera life on the gopro...just like my damn iphone.
i was extremely hung over that morning...didn't feel like talking to a bunch of randoms.
i ran into a few people after the battery died that i hadn't seen in years...people from high school and whatnot.

Leaving for China on the 28th, otherwise I would. When I get back we'll have to plan something. I'd still like an extra pair of hands/eyes to do my pressure switches and 3x3. If the Cars for a Cause meet was just a liiiiittle closer I'd drive down there this weekend. Only reason I don't want to is because the wifey is doing a girl's weekend in Panama City, so I'm Mr. Mom for the weekend. Three kids in the back of the TL for 6 hours would be tricky.

This is for getting the pre-amp signal. When you do this, you'll have complete control of your crossovers and slopes, but we'll get to that after. Since your using the Passive Crossover box then you'll be fine and won't really "hurt" your speakers, but you need to set them correctly or you could be missing a lot of information if say..you set the High Pass Filter at 200hz then you'd be missing roughly 200hz and down. Anyways....
This is for the JL 300/2
Right now you should be using this correct? (this is post-amp below)
Left Front ---------- Lt. Green (+) / Purple (-)
Right Front ---------Blue (+) / red (-)
In the above diagram, you're taking the signal after the "factory amp" so you'll need get in the kick panel and unhook your connections that go to the JL 300/2 so you can take it before the factory amp (like its shown above). Take the speaker wire or RCA's (not sure what you're using) and splice into the color codes given in the diagram above:
Left Front: Green (+) / Blue (-)
Right Front: Black (+) / Grey (-)
Don't worry about reconnecting the wires that you unhooked (lt. Green/Purple & Blue/Red) as they're post-amp and the signal won't get to them anyways since you're cutting it off before it even reaches the factory amp and re-routing it to the 300/2.
For the Sub Amp
Right now you should be spliced into these color wires correct?
Yellow-Black (+) / Lt.Green-Red (-)
I'm not sure if you spliced into them in the trunk or near the factory amp (hopefully the factory amp), but you'll need to take the pre-amp signal for the subwoofer wires to your sub amp.....just like you did above. Unhook the wires you have that go to your sub and splice and connect them into these wire colors:
Red-Blue (+) / White-Green (-)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Setting Crossovers On Your Amp
got to check what sub amp you're using again..then i'll post this

Setting Crossovers On Your Amp
JL 300/2
1. Unplug your subs
2. Filter Mode = HP
3. Freq. Range = x1
4. Filter Slope = This is dependent on you and what you like...but I'd use a 24db slope personally
5. Turn the Input Sensitivity all the way down for right now!
6. Turn crossover on the amp (in the "amp filter controls" section) to about 75-80hz
7. Play some music that you like (use multiple songs here) on volume of about 28-30
8. Slowly turn up the gain (input sensitivity) until you hear the speakers starting to sound distorted, not clear, bottoming out, etc. Shouldn't be too hard to hear this as they'll sound like they are straining and just don't sound natural. Once you find a point you think has some slight distortion or just doesn't sound good, then turn the gain back down a tad so you never reach that point of distortion
You can play around with the High Pass Filter, and try about 65hz or 70hz on a 24db slope, but 75-80hz should be fine for now.
JL 500/1
Setting the sub up is all dependent on what kind of sound you want. Do you want the sub to blend into the music or do you want it to stand out a bit more??
1. Infrasonic Filter = On and at 20hz
2. Bass EQ off for now
3. Turn Gain all the way down
4. Amp LP Filter: 24db Slope and set the x-over freq about 80hz
5. Play some music again (on volume of about 28-30) that you like and has good, solid bass that varies from very low stuff to the higher bass lines
6. Slowly turn up the gain until they start to sound strained, overworked, etc. Distortion is harder to hear in these lower frequencies where the sub covers so you'll just have to listen hard and make sure that the sub isn't bottoming out. The w6v2 has a lot of excursion so it'll take quite a bit to make it bottom out. It also has a very quiet motor and doesn't make much noise at all while playing at high volumes...which is nice! When you're turning up the gain and listening and find that point that it sounds a little different than before then slightly lower the gains a tad like you did before...so you never reach that point of distortion.
You're Done!

yeah but it won't be so bad...all we need to do is switch around some wires.
alright over the weekend i reluctantly went to the "cars for a cause" meet in fairfax, va. it was a cancer donation drive and a lot of people and vendors showed up to show their support.
it was raining, cold, windy, and miserable. but despite all of that, they still had about 500 cars show up and we all made the best of it.
i didn't take many pics, it just wasn't worth getting my camera or phone wet. plus my shitty umbrella ended up breaking in half about an hour into the show.
however, i did win 2nd place trophy in the tuner class. that was pretty shweet.
representing acurazine at the show...CF decals
got my innovative LC1 AFR gauge/control.
and lastly, my fiance painted me a picture for the holiday this past friday.
