...or a paintball gun.

WOW, you're hamsum! Dude, that is intense...the bullpen.

On a side note, what do you guys think about a 225 on a 9" rim? I'm thinking about going with a slightly smaller width this time...thinking it'll help eliminate that wider inside ridge that wore down from the toe AND might give me some extra clearance for the fenders.

225 on a 9" isn't too aggressive. That's only 10mm narrower on a half inch wider wheel than I'm running. I say do it!

I'm really really thinking about it...
I'm also really leaning toward the Conti DSW's...they are in stock with discount tire.
I don't need the snow, but they are rated for 500+ treadwear...I'd give up a little sticky for some longer lasting rubber. Plus, they have amazing ratings!!! AND a lot of the reviews are from people that don't have snow either.

I'm running 225's on my rear wheels, which are 18x9. This is a shitty pic, but it'll give you an idea of the stretch and fender clearance:

Thanks John, that actually looks just fine.
I'm thinking, it'll give me a little less weight on the tire, which is great, will have less of an angle to get worn down on the inside, and will give me some extra fender clearance to be able to keep the spacer on and the camber in check.

God I love Discount tire direct, called for pricing on the Conti DSW's...$165 per tire...told them about my previous set not lasting very long (like under 12K miles, partially due to the bad toe) and they are holding them for me for $125 per tire. WOW...what a deal.
Probably will jump on that.

Only thing now, with the extended lugs is figuring out if I'll run leave the 10MM spacer up front and just run a +35 all around (probably...since keeping the camber as good as it is is important to me) OR I could leave the rear spacer on and flip flop the +35/+45 rims front and rear and end up with a +25 all around. But that might not clear fender with how low I have the car.

We shall see!

Rocky couple factors:

higher treadwear = more road noise and even thow the tire wont wear out that quickly but a higher treadwear tire are more prone to cracking....I have had experience.....

also why are you doing with an ALL SEASON tire....bisshhhh....leave that for us snow people lol....

look into some high performance summer tire which will give you a great ride all year long and have amazing dry and wet traction....look into the below categories and pick ur tire.....

if you were in Kansas i would have gotten you 50% off on tire + installation + warranty + every'fawking'thing....cash only....know a guy in sams club who does this type of dealing

check Continental DW, if DWS is stuck in your head.....

I would go with a performance tire as well; although you probably want these for the comfort too; Winter style tires have a softer rubber compound no?
You guys ever seen the BFG G-Force? SICKEST tread design. lol performance Summer tire as well.

J, srsly why are you buying all seasons....when you live in florida....not to mention you are buying silica compound which above 65* out will just SHEER rubber if you drive a little hard.

keep the aspecs for travel and the works for performance.

Nice. I bought a pair of 25mm V2 Ichiba's in the BM, but I think it's going to be a little too aggressive with my setup. Want to trade for your 20mm's?

Well, discount tire doesn't have the DW...AND the treadwear isn't nearly as good. I know why the treadwear is lower but my YK520 Yoko's were not loud at all and lasted close to 25K. This 300 TW and only getting 12K miles out of them is for the freakin birds, my friend. BIRDS!!!!

Hey Kenny,
Thanks for the advice...I actually think the snow tires are more of a harder compound. I'm loving the reviews on this tire...and a bunch are from FL and even one on a TL. They say they are quiet, and last a long time. that's what I want. 12k miles on a tire is not my idea of ok.

ha ha...doubt I'll be switching back and forth, but you're probably right. I could do that. Going to do a little more research over the weekend to see about if I'm sold on that tire.

I'll keep you posted ebelp, I'm not certain I can afford the extra 5MM just yet...I'd swap you for my fiancee's 20MM Akata spacers since her 8th gen never gets that close to the fender and she's not very low. Let me know what you think.

btw u did have Falken right ? my Falkens vanished in 18K miles as well....shitty tire IMO....

my Fuzions Hri (tight budget) got em semi used from a guy ($150 installed out the door) and they lasted me 45K on my car....really high TW...still doing great and have good amount of thread but the tire is cracking from couple places and not safe to drive on em....

i suggest getting a little lower treadwear tire.... ~300-340

any more than that your just getting a harder compound which will crack....and it wont be as sticky.....

Falken FK452's...yeah. Had the hankook evo12's before that and didn't like those either...

Dude...if I got 45k out of some tires that would mean they lasted me 3 years and i'd be totally fine with them cracking! I'd rather have my tires die from old age than be stillborn!

^^^ shit sorry for the double post....wont delete either....

anyway i feel ya....but dont expect much performance from a high TW tire....all things being equal look into some firestone firehawk wide oval indy 500.....i have those on my car right now, 320 A A TW and UTQC....rides awesome, performes awesome...have them since 7K miles....sitting in the garage right now as they are UHP (Ultra High Performance Summer) tires....ranked #3 in its category (were #1 until they came out with the All Season tire and Michellin came out with Pilot Exalto PE2 )

V2...20MM.
No rush...but I'd be willing to swap hers to 25 NP. All nuts included and no damage, right? Only difference with the Akata's is it's a 21MM nut and you need a thin walled socket to install properly. As you know, torque to spec...monkey wrenching it will result in stripped nuts (as you'd see on my ichibas, which I had to cut and hack up to get the nut off last).

J.

EDIT:

PS fellas, I am reading reviews elsewhere and of course all you fkers are right. I may go with the Nitto NT555's.

Swoosh, thanks man...I'll look into those too!
Ok, glad I didn't place order without checking into it more.

EDIT: Firehawks are super high treadwear too!

Ok, looked into the DW's for the conti's...much much better ratings and treadwear is 340. They are also on sale for $105 per tire. Looks like I'll be going that route. I'll see if they'll work with me on price since I have to pay for shipping.

J.

Alright you m effers...thanks for convincing me that I NEED to put my rims back on.

Does anyone else feel like a total and utter schizo when it comes to your car. Black grill, no black grill, oem wheels, works, etc...I swear, I tell myself, just simplifying my life, going to rock the aspecs and that's it...18's...nice smooth ride etc. Then as soon as I see any other set of wheels out there I'm like "ohh ohh..me too, I have wheeels...I love wheels...they're awesome and they're black and they're 19's!!" and that's it...gotta put the works back on. Last time, did a week with the aspecs...then all of a sudden 3 times in a week I see this 1 series BMW with black on black wheels...fk...I put them back on. Last night, watching season one of Californication...where he trades in his old porsche and shows up with a brand new one in black on black gloss wheels. FK...that's it, works going back on.

J.

Now, just need to see if my friend can mount balance and align to make sure I'm good.
I hate being at the mercy of the other people out there.

Ok, anyway...it's done. DWS, clearly too hard a material and all the reviews I read said that in cold they suck. The DW, is discontinued in my size...so tire rack had literally 5 left. He had to ship 2 of them from Georgia and the other 2 from somewhere else but he price matched the shipping.

So, $478 out the door for a set of 340 treadware Continental ExtremeContact Dry and Wet tires. $105 x 4 + $60 shipping.

I'm such a bargain hunter.

Wow nice buy Jeremy! Can't wait to see them on!

And I know how you feel about the car. You get something you want and you're happy with it for about 5 seconds. And about the A-Specs, you're lucky you can swap to something else. I'm stuck with mine, I don't even have stockies

Ha ha...I know, I'm a spoiled little bitch.

Awww...poor me, what do I put on, my works or my aspecs?!?!

In the near future I may not be able to spend money as freely, so better live now, right? Plus, tires are tires...not like something you buy that you might not use. Even when I swap back to the works, the aspecs will stay new until I put them back on.

Also the same reason I renew my tag for 2 years at a time...more money, sure...but I don't have to think about it next year AND it's not like I won't need to have a registered car!

As you know, torque to spec...monkey wrenching it will result in stripped nuts (as you'd see on my ichibas, which I had to cut and hack up to get the nut off last).

J.
Okay let's do it. Yeah, I have all the hardware. There's no damage that I can see, but I'll inspect it again to be sure. I have a 21mm socket, but I'm not sure if it's thin enough to torque the nuts down. I always torque to spec. I'll PM you with details...

Sounds like a plan, man. Yeah, on her car...she can probably put a friggin 40MM spacer and be fine...I actually wouldn't mind her rear end sticking out a bit more HAHAHAHAH...

PM me and we'll figure out the swap. I'm an honest kinda dude...but I don't expect you to take my word for it. I guess we'll come up with a plan that works for us both.

478 to you door is not bad....installation will be what 50-60 bucks....so $550 for a new set of 19" tires is a great deal....

and am glad you went with a low treadwear tire (340)....400+ gets really noise (Fuzion HRI were like 440 something)....

Thanks man, yeah...you were the main pusher for me NOT to get the DWS (even though I had a feeling if it was rated for snow it would suck).

Can't beat that deal at all...I'm super happy about it!
