Steven Bell, forgot to mention and you've done it twice more for me...thank always updating the date I have updated my thread. You're the man!
Well, I won't say that the shifting is super easy to where you require NO arm effort, but you CAN just shift with your wrist and no move your whole arm.
Thanks, bud...appreciate it! Meh...guns just sit in a drawer locked up at home (if you're smart)...I'd stick with either saving the money or a fun mod.
IF/WHEN I have any issues with my silver paintjob...I'll PROBABLY try a different color, but until then...I think I'm all set.
tease...I was half mast and everything.
PS...
Have an issue. So, smelled something weird after my drives home from work lately. Like a burnt something or other. Well, this weekend...when under the car looking for the exhaust noise (I'm fairly certain it's due to my destroyed side motor mount since it's only under load of accelerating and only when accelerating hard at a certain RPM and you hear the sound up and down as if it's a rotation of the engine) I saw that there was a "fluid" all over the under side
of the oil pan.
I thought maybe it was from the oil pan since the bolt had this fluid on it, but it's in front of it too and you know physics...on a car on the highway, the fluid will drip forward, not back. I wiped it off and had a high school approach..."meh, it'll go away". Ha ha...RIGHT. So today, I get back under the car to check and sure enough, it's there again.
Now, I can see that it ain't transmission fluid
and it looks way to clean to be oil (used).
Can't be clutch...too far and slave is dry.
Can't be brakes, again, too far.
I also noticed the front of the engine (like the head gasket area I would presume) looks caked with dirty fluid (over time, probably) but if that gasket was gone the right side would be leaking too and it's bone dry. Whatever the bottom most right pulley is is is covered in it too but I think it's from the drip down to it (when facing the passenger side of the motor). I traced this fluid back up and I think the starting point is the power steering pump itself.
My question, during the recall, is there a chance they just didn't tighten the bolts properly? My next step this weekend will be to get in there and retighten all the bolts and wash all the dirty fluid off to look and see if it comes back. Just wanted to make sure I was barking up the right tree.
Here are pics
Where it starts
a closer from same angle
Here's the part of the front of the engine I mentioned
same another angle
oil pan
side of the oil pan
and this is the big thing the pulley I mentioned is on that has the fluid on it.
Any thoughts would be great...thank you.

Well, in addition to this post, I posted a HELP thread in the fixes and sections area...subscribe and maybe we'll BOTH figure out the problem.
Tracing the fluid though, I have a feeling I'm right. I THINK that over time, the pump itself ends up getting loose from the engine from vibrations etc. Allowing some fluid to spray or drip from the bottom. It's just gotten worse over time for me. I am HOPING it's something simple like that.

I had this problem before and ended up changing the oil pan. Could it be the bolt?? perhaps, this what my first thought and acura's as well but it wasn't the bolt. The bolt got always loose because whoever worked on the car before damaged the whole where the bolt goes in to. My car was always leaking oil due to that, small amounts of course.

I agree with TLDude....my tranny has some oil on it, it bothers me when i do a flush but then am like am not loosing fluid so never mind...there is never new fluid on it....just old stuff....
recently I saw some fluid on the oil pan and the bolt....i think i overtightened it...but yeah in for the solution....i hope its nothing major....

I would get couple O-rings as well....you never know if that broke and is leaking the fluid....
and dont over tighten the bolts
and dont over tighten the bolts

Hmmm...I know...aluminum is no match for ME!
about the o rings...I'd have to study what o rings might be leaking ON the pump, it's not actually coming from the hose I don't think. I've changed the o ring before when I was trying to get rid of this noise I thought was the pump. Ended up being the tensioner.

Well...who likes PICS!??!!
AND, here is the first set of pics with my newest mod. Couldn't pass up the deal I got off a member on here. I NEVER thought I'd get em, but honestly...now that they are on the car, I really dig em. They look cool. The passenger side one makes the window not go auto up because it has to force it's way up but I can live with that. I took it all apart and tried to find the what the problem is but can't. The driver one is up and out of the way with not issues. I actually ended up cracking a small portion of the passenger one forcing it up, but you can't see it and it happened when first installed so I know it's a symptom, not the cause. Anyway, in typical fashion...I emailed weathertech to see what they thought of the problem and if they have any other complaints about fitment. Overall, I can't complain...and yes yes...I know the oem ones are great and cover the fake little quarter window but hey...like I said...for the price I paid WTF...couldn't NOT give it a whirl.

dude...if I had the time to sort thru all my six thousand six hundred and sixty posts and tally how many times I said the SAME thing...
I guess since it's black on black on black and it is pretty sleek and adds an extra element of detail to the car it looks pretty good...I was surprised...I totally expected to put it on and take it RIGHT off.
My main reason for wanting it...I don't ride with the AC on very often...and it irks me to have to use it when it's raining, so figured I could crack the windows and be able to still have the air pass thru the external air thing thru the act his way. COOL.
Plus...like I mentioned...KILLER deal. Like...way too cheap, shipped and packaged with something else I bought, to pass up giving it a shot.

Ok...little maintenance...
got my side motor mount changed out...took all of 15 minutes. VERY easy.
Instead of jacking engine up, I jacked up car and put this under oil pan and lifted and lowered onto the wood. Much easier.
and I did a little closer looking at the power steering pump but I'm at a loss. It looks like it's leaking from the entire thing. I don't really have time for down time to take it apart and find the o-ring that's failing or whatever it is and then wait for the part to arrive. I guess I'll take it all the way apart and off the car during my vacation time in a few weeks.

Steven, thank you, bud Appreciate your udates of my thread as per usual.
Swoosh...no sir, I checked all the bolts and they are tight. It's going to be a o ring or something...I DID make sure everything was tight and cleaned the gunk off to see if I can see where the NEW fluid is coming from. I will find it. But I'll do it when I have vacation so I can leave my car out of commission once I figure out what I need to order and wait for it to come in. I also ordered the full on service manual. I have a dvd that's in pdf format but it's not searchable so I never use it cause it sucks to scroll. So I bought one I can search thru and get my answers. $25 well spent IMO. Plus, it'll help me help all you guys/gals out there when you have questions since I can save HD images and post them.
About the side mount, my thoughts were that I didn't want to put any extra strain on the front/rear mounts when I pulled the oem one. So I supported it. So easy!
Ravi, maybe I'm OCD or I take good pics that hide the dirt but those pics were when i thought the car was actually super dirty. I should show you pics of it today after I cleaned it and put back to black on all the trim and a fresh coat of Zaino Z2 on the car and the wheels.
Either way, thanks for the compliments. AND PS...I already got the "you're getting obsessive with your stupid fkn car again" from the fiance today.
GP...I looked online and found it for $48 plus $18 for shipping. Went to the dealership and they had it listed at $82. I gave them my number and BAM...$42. I'm set up at a discount when they look up my telephone number since I'm a faithful customer and I was/am friends with a few of the people there

Thanks man...well, I love it too...but it's not mine...it's Bank of America's house. Oh well, my next one will have a 2 car garage.
About the roof...you know, originally she wanted to do that, and also the tinted tails and she ended up changing her mind on both counts. I'm lucky she let me lower it and put in spacers and put in fogs and hid's.
