Well, sorry for the build up, it's not THAT impressive but I NEVER get to see that baby rolling!
I'll have to see if I can get Betty to record me when the 7000 comes in.
J.
I changed it to public, I guess mobile uploads from the phone go straight to private.

the 7000 is a great camera Jeremy...
I have been thinking of getting a DSLR and since i want an entry level, I was thinking of a used D3000 (not a typo)....i would like to have the D3100 or D3200 but am pretty sure that will be money well wasted in my case LOL

I did ask un-sticker-ed ....i think he wants to save up some $$$ and hence wants to hold onto his setup for a bit....
i am in no hurry so we will see![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
but i was texting penguin the other day as I came across a D3000 (with the lens kit) for like 250 and was asking him if that was a decent deal...at that point I was not able to convince myself that i do need a DSLR, but after looking at some pix on here by Austin, I need something to start learning on and I think the D3000/D3100 with limited functionality would be a good starting point

Yo dawg, you gotta post pics of your new camera with your camera so we can see what the new camera looks like before you take pics with your camera.

Anil, okay, I'll share my secret which came as a combo pack from ebelp. Keep your eye on www.adorama.com and bandhphotography. BOTH have ebay seller accounts and both have their own websites. They both list used bodies of cameras and they even have a rating system for the condition they're in and have great return policies. If you're not too picky with the lens you start with, you can start off pretty cheap, bud. 18-55mm is the kit lens they generally include and is a good start. In addition, Betty says that when she worked for the County, they all ordered from B&H so I knew they were legit.
The 50MM F1.8 is the lens that allowed me to take a lot of those sexy narrow field focused wheel and blurry backround shots. Also a recommendation of ebelp and veggiemonster. Only ran me $100 for that and took me to the next level. Austin also gave me some guidance on settings and what the ISO was for.
SO, my package was a bit more pricey because for an upgrade I wanted 18-105MM instead which jumps the lens price up considerably and I wanted to drop back to a 35MM F1.8 since the 50 made me stand back so far to take full car picture frames.
Good thing about photography is things hold their value pretty well and mostly are interchangeable so if you buy a lens, it'll probably stay with you as long as you keep the same brand body. In my case, I had Canon and wanted to swap over to Nikon as most of my photography idols use Nikon and having played with them, I felt I saw a difference in the end result pictures. This was another reason I didn't end up buying more and more lenses for the Canon. I made John Woz (bmore) a deal him and the wife couldn't pass up on my whole shebang of Canon gear.
Anyway, check those places for used body 3000-3100-3200 although honestly, knowing you...you practice till you're good at stuff. You're out on your front porch on your hands and knees framing pictures in an interesting way with your wife's cell phone...you will get into doing this. I'd much rather see you cough up a little extra scratch now to be on par and not too complicated. Both EBELP and Veggie shoot Nikon D90's and although the D7000 is an upgrade to that, the D90 is what produces their award winning shots. Only person I know on the forums that has the D7000 is Justin and you know you're lucky if he posts 1 picture every 6 months.
My 2 cents times a 1000.

LMAO, I should say that I bounced a LOT of stuff off Tyler too...and he's given me some guidance and pats on the butt.
Well, what do I know...the two Tyler's have 3100's! AND WANT TO UPGRADE TO OTHER CAMERAS!
Sorry T...I just know Anil has the liquidity to afford a D90, more than likely, and figured I'd point him in the direction off the bat.

Great advice Jeremy....I shall keep an eye out on those websites....
yeah I have been lying in awkward positions in my driveway LOL....lucky enough no neighbors have seen me rolling around in the grass trying to get a nice shot of the car LOL....
I do want to start off with a cheapie camera since if I dont end up shooting as many pix, atleast i didnt waste 600 bucks....ya know

No worries J, I was just giving you a hard time ![Mizouse](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/quagmire.gif)
Yeah we all know Anil is the typical Indian consumer, always trying to hustle and get a good deal, so I'm sure he can get a D90 or D7000 for less than a D3100

best movie line, best line used in a song. TWO TROPHIES!
Anil, damn you, if we didn't have that whole racial fallout back in the day I had so many comical retorts there.
I guess my point is, you could spend $400 on a kit with lens for a 3100, OR you could go on ebay or either of those sites and find a package deal with possibly better lens and D90 for about the same price.

Anil, just ebay "D90 body 18-55 lens or 18-105 lens or 50mm f1.8 or 35mm f1.8" you'll find a bunch!
Vadi, thank you much, man...I'm still in the beginning stages, man.
Yum, never, sir. If I did, I'd run a 28 second lap though. (is that good?)![what](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/what.gif)
My car has never seen any official racing, tracks or dragstrips. Just the grocery store and work, as intended!

Took it out to play with it a bit yesterday...
I am in LOVE with this camera. I don't know why Canon users find the Nikon to be difficult to use...honestly, the on the fly menu and buttons seemed more intuitive to me and right off the bat, I KNOW it's an upgraded camera so even if it were Canon it would be better, but WOW the shots are so crisp and nice. Almost EVERY one I took was usable.

Rockstar, download an app called bump. Then go to http://bu.mp. Easiest way to share images with full image quality. You literally just bump your phone on your computers space bar and the images upload. They you will just right click, copy image URL, and paste it in the image box.
Oh whoops, just realized you got a fancy camera and likely aren't uploading from your phone anyways. In that case, use http://imgur.com!
