Austin, wasn't because of locations that I am not inclined. Just feeling a little automotively uninspired these days...
CCFL's give off a LOT of light, much more than an LED could. I even did the reflective tape thing to make sure it really shone down. Tyler, look into a thread by guitarplayer16...he posted the link he used. I got the same, 12" CCFL's...so far, so good, man.

Got something fun on the way, thanks to Austin doing a coat of carnauba on top of his zaino z2.
Just placed an order for this and if it's nice this weekend, stay tuned for a coating of this and some new pictures. Based on reviews, it promises to be fkn awesome for NBP.
also, lowered rear by 1/8" of an inch on the coilover threads. I want to get it perfect without being maxed before my next alignment. We shall see.

Nice order Jeremy...I've been using the Griot's Garage stuff and love it. I get bored easily with wax, etc....
Went from Zaino to Dodo Juice to Griot's products.
Anxious to see the lowered pics, dude!

Well, I change so often, you might not notice much of a difference. I'm just trying to get back to that sweet spot where I'm happy with the drop AND how it rides.
I agree, I have Zaino, and Griots, and Concourse etc...but most of them are all polymer and liquids...this will be my first carnauba paste wax. Something about that and the fact that they mix in chemicals for a good bond make me think this will be very good on the car. Can't wait!
Thanks, Steven.

Half the fun is in tuning and finding that sweet spot!
J, what have you done interior-wise? I remember talking about shift knobs.

Buddy, just know the Carnuba is outstanding stuff, but doesn't last as long as other waxes do. You'll be waxing more often, but it will look great!
#5615
I don't mind that, Steven...I'm nuts and probably wax with the polymers too often anyway.
About interior, i have the USR pedals, all weather mats, dash mat, led ambient floor lighting, gloss black center console sills...shifter...that's about it.

From my wash and wax entry...
Hey Guys and Gals...
I had been reading up on Carnauba Wax and how deep a shine it really gives and decided to give it a whirl. After many years of dealing stricty with polymers I wanted to see why the old timer's all complained that it wasn't deep enough of a shine
Going on was easy enough although worked my arm a bit more than my usual z2 coating...coming off...wasn't bad, but I probably should have worked in sections OR moved my car from being in the sun. Once it baked on there, it did require multiple passes of the microfiber and some extra OOMPF for removal.
In the end, I am happy with my purchase. I wasn't too much concerned with longevity since I'm nuts and I protect the car every 2 or 3 months anyway.
I don't know if it'll "replace" my other stuff, but I will say that for a dark colored car with a pearl (which is what they advertise this car) it really does work. My BLUE pearl in my NBP has NEVER been so obvious and the paint does look like it's dripping off.
Please forgive that some of my shots show that I'll need to do a correction at some point.

Honestly, like Austin so graciously mentioned, I use camera trickery to hide all her flaws. Overall, she looks good, but she's definitely got some bags under the eyes that show her true age here and there. Thank you though!
Chip, you're the man. Thank you very much!

Exactly..
To be honest with you, seeing that knob puts smile on my face.. I'm serious
I could feel how fun it is to shift it.
This middle console of the TL could take that knob. It's straight and your arms stays straight too. Knob would sit right into the hand. Perfect
Unlike an Evo, STI or some other..
Just because my elbow might sit higher than the knob, I didn't replace my arm rest... you know the one some people get from one website here that has soft pad in it
I give attention to details goes from feelings
That's the reason I respect you and your car..
Just like my taste too but... That car is not plug and play
I know the detail work you gave to that car..especilly to rim/tire section
Pays off
That's why I hate slammed TLs
That's not modding

Wow, you give a lot of thought to your posts. I appreciate the feedback very much, man. Seriously. I will admit it's been a labor of love with LOTS of trial and error. Sometimes I'll see a picture from a year ago or 2 and think...WTF was I thinking. I'm truly happy with how she sits now...I see the car and sometimes I am still in shock that it's my car. I remember not that long ago being that 15 year old kid sweating everyone's cars thinking that I didn't know how to do ANY of it myself. Lots of money, time and blood and eventually...I feel like I've got a decent understanding of how to make a car look cool (for what I think is cool, at least). How to overdo, or underdo a car etc. I can't believe I know what offsets are now...when 2 years ago I was afraid of getting a roll or didn't even take being flush into account, just lowered.
Anyway, I really do appreciate the compliments, man. Very much and you're dead on...for me, being able to enjoy DRIVING the car is the main thing...the feel of the shifter, the height of it, the way the car handles and accelerates. It's really a great car. Not the fastest but with the mods I have now, it is quick enough to not be boring, even it's just a 1, 2, 3, 1 shift in residential neighborhoods...the feelings, the sounds of the exhaust, the looks you get...it all ties in to the driving "experience". I can tell that you GET exactly what I'm saying because not everyone feels that way about a car. It's just about a status symbol, or how big your rims are, or a mode of transport...to me, it's a lot more.
Ok, my bad...that was pretty deep...

Definitely... I agree. Trial and error is the thing
You waste money but you love it at the end, it's like it pays off later on with much better joy and knowledge...even though it was a bad move.
Yepp I get you, totally. That's the big reason I can't stop driving the car.
I drove many many cars, I feel so easy to compare them with TL right now.
At the end I say TL is the car again.
You feel the shape, edges of the car while you drive, I mean you have to..
Or the interior, I mean you can't explain those feeling but
a person knows about driving knows it..
2 years ago, at car wash, I was drying my car, one old man pulled behind me and was cleaning the rims + drying..detailing
He had e46 330i zhp
I knew this guy knows about cars...old man with zhp and detailing it
I talked to him, first thing he told me was, "take care of this car... best car and best design Japan did on a vehicle. I drove it before and I know how the feeling is"
I said yeah, and remind me of my dads Alfa 156 in 1999...that car with that design saved the Alfa in Europe. My dad still misses the car, the tone of the engine
as I said the tone of the engine, he said... exactly haha
He was French, his last car there was 156, he said I still miss that tone of the engine.
These Alfa guys knows it and it's the biggest reason they can't sell their car even though it's a car that has the most problems.
My dad was having a lot problems with it, last thing service manager told him was, you have to get used to it, people drive this car for fun...
He couldn't sell it. Kept driving it until we moved here at 2001
anyways...
Nothing is like this TL to me now, feeling of that pedal... Audi doesn't have that
Even auto on TL..best auto to me
I can't imagine driving your TL
Mine is stock and look what I feel and AUTO
