the coyote 5.0 does AMAZING without boost. I really don't see a reason to get the gt500/cobra anymore compared to that!

^^^

on a serious note...no doubt about the 5 litre being a monster motor....i was just messing with Jeremy (and hence the " ")

and on a side note....if i was really looking into getting a mustang, I would try to get the GT500 and settle with the 5.0 V8 because of the budget

5.0 is the best performance bang for your buck, hands down...
I might have one in my future.

well am not really sure about the bang for the buck !!!

420hp for 35K or 660HP for 55K....plus you get better brakes + suspension + seats and warranty on forced induction....sounds like better bang for the buck to me....

Meko and the girl loves Camaro's !!! so the ZL1 is a serious contender !!!

Actually...I would rather the 600 plus horsepower!
BUT$55K isn't in my price range so I'd settle for the 420 starting point and build it from there.

And as far as bang for the buck, looks like everyone is right...
420/35 = 12HP for every 1K you spend.
660/55 = 12HP for every 1k you spend.

It's ironic you're talking about this. Almost every car magazine that compares the Mustang GT 500 and the ZL1 picks the ZL1 the best overall.

I wonder how much it would cost to get a 5.0 to the Shelby's numbers... less than $20k I bet.

BUT like swooshy-swoosh said, the Shelby has all that extra stuff... seats, suspension, tires, all that stuff.

well, personally, I wouldn't pay $20k for a .00000001% upgrade...
At some point you gotta say "that's too much for a car". I can barely wrap my head around spending over 30K on an American car...don't even bother putting it into the 50's.

This I agree with and hence I said, if am shopping for a mustang, the GT500 will be def on my list....i will get the 5.0 v8 just because of the budget and dont wanna spend almost 60-65K on a Ford....

and not to sound ridiculous but you are not paying $20K for a .000000000001% upgrade, you are paying $20K for 57% upgrade in HP and 61% upgrade in TQ....

...
I knew you'd point that out. I guess my point is that if I had an 11 incher...I'd be good with that...I wouldn't care to have 16 inches cause then most girls would run.

over 400 to the wheels (and THEN SOME with some tuning etc) is more than I'll ever need in a daily driver.

Hey, quick side question brother. Best place to buy the accord fogs you have? I hear its better to avoid the plastic ones? How much of a pain in the ass are they to install? Are you ever bored and looking to help a nearby Aziner install these?

Yeah, i know where the DIY is and i've read thru it but it seems like a huge pain in the ass and since Rockstar does all of his own mods i'm trying to get his feel on whether it truly is such a pain in the ass as it seems before trying to attempt it. Besides he seems to have a knack for finding quality stuff at good prices so that's why i'm asking him about best place to find and whether is really needs to be the glass OEM ones or not. And lastly since he routinely does his own quality mods i'm reaching out to see if he minds helping a brother out if i decide to do them since he is not that far away.

Soooo, now i'm wondering why i just spent a couple lines explaining myself to other people besides Rockstar?? Ohhh, i know.....it's my fault because i should have PM'ed him and avoided others input. Lesson learned.

GP16 is extremely detailed in his DIY's.

I've asked Rockstar here and he said he'd never install another set of fogs, so yes, count on it being a pain in the ass.

LOL...you guys are a trip!
It's true though...after helping my buddy Ryan (heatseeker) do his...I vowed I'd never do it again. Since there's no "right" way to do it, it was brutal since you never know whether or not you're doing it right till you put it all back together and look at it as a whole. Plus, with stuff like this, there's no real way to "help"...you just end up doing it for the person.

I'd be glad to offer guidance, though...and also...yes, get oem...the glass ones are much better...more importantly, get the the ones with the glare shield!

Here guys-I just got this today and thought you'd like to see this from Car & Driver Magazine. This compares the ZL1 to the BMW M6! And not to the Cobra.

...well, how local are you? I'm pretty fickle, man.
I might give you a hand. I promise you it can be intimidating. Worst case, you buy some uncut grills and revert. I'm sure we can handle. Maybe we'll do yours and Austin's in one sitting.
