Well, I agree with you totally, but if you know him...and he is an enthusiast...at the VERY least, they should provide you with a blank switchblade key for fucking yours up.

I agree...that's crap.
About the email...tried closing out my email yesterday and the day before and resending. I don't know why it's freezing up. I only had 3 pics attached!!! I mean, they're 2.5 megs each, but still. Maybe I'll try and resize a little.

Also...I'm super frustrated....my #6 fuse keeps popping...so my keyless entry, homelink, and interior lights don't work. I don't know what it is...maybe the HID's?

get a gmail account, they have the highest attachment size available as far as i know, which is why I've been having you guys send it to me there instead of my yahoo...which i generally use for all my forum stuff and junk email (not personal haha)

it's free, and you can turn it to your junk email over your comcast. comcast always gave me major shit in the past with attachments...used to have to send CAD files to myself as backups and to work at home essentially daily, and even tho they were at MOST 2mb, it still had a hard time getting it anywhere.

maybe that'll work...

dunno about your fuse, but i really hate that i don't have a voltmeter in the TL like i did in my S4...it was so helpful

Well, I have a line driver and capacitor with volt readings on it...but I need something deeper than that...something to help me diagnose where on THAT circuit, my short is coming from.

and PS...I DO have a gmail account, guess I should start using it.

I don't know...mine is doing that sometimes too!

YES, I sure do. Well, it's a smaller version but get the job done. Of course I don't know what to do with it. I am guessing jam one in each end of where the fuse goes in...and then look for 12V. I'm getting 12V even with the car off...so it's shorting out and being given power with car off.

take pins and push those into the connector. its smaller and less intrusive to the wire/connector.

then touch the voltmeter leads to that. that'll tell you the voltage.

if you have nothing, unplug the connector, and then touch the leads to the bulb/ballast and use the ohm setting (must disconnect from power beforehand) and you just want it to be below infinite/1000 ohms. that would prove the hardware is dead on...otherwise you'll have to get looking for wires that are spliced wrong or something

No, I get it popping the fuse with or without key in ignition. So something is grounding out.

I guess I will try the leads to the fuse #6 and the voltometer. I'm racking my brain to think WHERE the hell is this thing grounding out!

Well, as a hobbyist...honestly...they are the reason I want to stab my eye with a rotten carrot right now. WTF could it be!?!?

Also, I did notice that when putting the fust in, if you just lightly touch it, it arcs and creates heat that will pop the fuse. Straight in sometimes works best.

^^^

i recently diagnosed a short in my car....and i was lucky...the 20A fog fuse kept popping and I found out that one of the ballast was messed up....

Good luck with that bro...try removing the fuse and seeing what wire is running there...

I did piggy the reverse HID switch off the green wire under then panel. And I also piggy'd the signal to the relay for the HID's itself off the reverse panel. I've undone both of those now though...hoping this helps stop the problem.

And the icing on the cake...just went to lunch and my airbag light is on again.

Sweet baby Jehova...

All good, man...comes with the territory...there are some NEW cars that have these problems so whatever.

I actually got it to stop turning on by jiggling the driver side seatbelt thingy and blowing air into it. Weird.

I'm more stressed about this fuse...I wish you were local. I'm not good with ohm readings.

Sorry, man...was consumed by this issue this weekend. I finally got it figured out (kind of). Thanks for the vote of confidence btw!

I ended up checking everything I've added including screws I've added to hold things in place etc. Nothing...with my tester I found that when running the circuit tester between both slots on the fuse socket it was lighting up very brightly...fuse #5 and #7 were lighting up too but dimly. I can't help but think it had something to do with the reverse HID's so I yanked em. Ended up putting a copper wire into 6 to jumper it out...it got warm for a second then nothing...normal...everything worked again. Got my tester in there and the it lit up normally (not overly bright like before). Threw a fuse in and it held. Next day I pop all the led's back in and the driver side courtesy light is not working...not sure what it is or if it was the problem but I eliminated them. Put carbon fiber vinyl over the lenses since they served no purpose anyway.

damn man....i went thro the same with my car....the memory seat buttons quit working....the rear view mirrors would go only up and right but not down and left....the fog fuse kept popping....the center rear view mirror auto-dim wouldnt light up....

i was frustrated....i took every fuse out of my car (with the battery disconnected) and i put it back in....every damn fuse....i had 1 blown fuse 7.5A which i replaced and damn everything started working fine.....and the blown fuse had nothing to do with the seats or the mirrors....

electronics do tend to act funny at times....

I guess that's why they call them electronics gremlins!!
Once I had my keyless entry stop making a beep noise...then gone...then airbag lights...then it stopped. Weird!

Then add to that all the other mods we do:
Accord fogs
DRL module
windows up module
system and amps and speakers
led accent lighting
reverse hid's with tailgater switch
switch for cut off on remote wires

the list goes on...lol. BUT, most of those mods are the reason people look twice at the car.

jesus that's an assload of extra amperage.

i don't ever do things like that. on my b5 i only had a boost gauge tapped in LOL. (was supposed to have a meth kit and a wideband but never installed)

i'm itching to do some little mods. your car makes me like the blacking out of trim and little things, but i'm gonna stick with the alloy color wheels (or white

what should i start with...been trying to decide for about 2 weeks...

I'll see about reattempting or using my gmail today too...

Yeah, I don't know what happened...the progression from one car to the next...3 cars ago...I barely lowered it and got tints...before that I never spent a dime on modding. Then did a little with the RSX last time...and the TL...I found this site and holy mother of GOD...there are so many mods I see and think, either too much money, or too complicated...but I've kept the car long enough to eventually revisit all those mods and give them a shot.

Well, reverse HID has been abandoned, back to reverse LED's...and no tailgater switch (was afraid of the road rage that might come from it...) I forgot to mention the 2 sets of relays I wired up to make the sidemarkers blink with the signals. Did that to offset the lowered visibility of the blacked out headlight corners.

Thanks for the compliment, man...I don't really dig black on black...not even kidding...but with the stance sitting nicely etc...it does look sleek and looks great rolling...very stealthy and it's grown on me. I waxed her , including rims, on Saturday. I think I may eventually get the wheels powdercoated a gunmetal color or a silver...we'll see.

About DSLR...I got lucky and bought mine off a forum member on here...$375 including shipping, the carrying backpack, a new 18-55mm lens with autofocus and a Canon 30D body. Couldn't pass it up and I'd been contemplating getting into it for a WHILE.

About modding the car...to me, start off simple. I think the stance of a car is always the first step to making it look aggressive and cool. Springs or coilovers depending on budget. Lower it...then tints *(depending on where you live)...eventually wheels...LED lighting...maybe some headlight modding...add some bass.

...wow, I have spent a lot of time on this car now that I relive it...

I have not ordered them yet. I think I'm set on 10's for the front and 15's for the back though. I think 15's and 20's will be too much and I'd have to roll fenders....

By the way, the shots are in the Region Section in the Meet's thread.

washed and waxed mine yesterday! had new paint on the front so its had to wait...i honestly think there has NEVER been a coat of wax on her. paint sucked it ALL up LOL

Jeremy, i got your emails, 3 of them right? will start modding them in a few.

i have suspension already actually....just in my trunk. haha. type-s shocks w/ 50k miles and h&r springs with only like 15k on them. which will be a massive upgrade compared to my 150k base crap. coming from a 650/750 lb/in track coils...i can not stand how soft the TL ride is. it's actually MORE uncomfy for me.

was trying to start installing last night but decided against it when i realized it was 8:30 already haha.

my list of things to do:
install suspension
new brakes
new clutch
timing belt service
get visors
get tint
rv6 pipe and hfc's
maybe new resonator sometime in there

I love em all! yeah, you were right...it exceeded the bandwidth when I tried to send 3 at a time...so i'd be waiting and get impatient and go to another site. I did 2 and it worked.
Thanks, man...I LOVE that wheel and brake one...love the other 2 also! I wonder how big our sigs can be. I remember they used to get deleted if they were too big. Should have taken new pics when I relowered the car...that one is from when I raised it up an inch.

Steve...get the 15 front and 20 rear...IIRC the 10 will require new studs up front. That and I don't think you'll rub with the stock 17's regardless. I really don't.

Veg...thanks again...yeah, I remember my first coat of wax on this...and I bought it from my stepdad that had it waxed every few months but they must have used crappy wax. I used meguir's the first time and remember seeing how DEEP the black got. WOW!
