If it's the 3M 1080 vinyl wrap, it's actually semi-pervious so worst case scenario you could probably apply some goo-gone or citrus "sticky remover" and cover it with some plastic or something to get it to release.

But it should peel off without too much difficulty.

P.S. - Word of caution, be careful removing those trim pieces. They are notorious for bending and getting very ugly, visible creases in them. And they are expensive to replace.

Actually that mic was supposed to do something with noise cancelling or something and it would cause a weird bass knock when it would feed back through the subwoofer feed. B's Accord did it too until I removed it.

About the rain trim, thanks for the heads up, that was the first thing I replaced on the black TL so I'll take my time. I won't be rushing to remove it though, was just considering it. Like Adam said, it's not that noticeable anyway.

Hmm...any plans on coming back to the CSL crew? Your TL was what inspired me to ditch the wing for the ATLP CSL And welcome to the blue crew! (albeit a different shade)

I honestly had considered it...but it feels like it's not very unique anymore
I'm not positive yet, but I love the oem type S spoiler, so for now, I'd say I'm not planning on it...then again, when I have to paint the aspec sides I'll probably rack my brain on the other stuff that could be painted at the same time.

J, If you do decide to do the CSL, I'd get the ATLP one so it covers the holes. No paint, and beefier. But you probably knew that

Some progression this weekend...
my simple fix to the dash vibration coming from the motor mounts! Couple of pieces of fuel line cut in half and jammed down where you don't see it.

Got bumper and headlights off...in preparation for aspec install, headlight lens restoration and also to rewire and tuck away the LED DRL and Fog HID relay harnesses.

And sand down and clean up the intake cover

Was trying to match the intake/strut bar, but the gunmetal came out a different shade, although I do love how it looks. Very clean!

thanks brother...
I think it was more popular to do white cars...it gives the illusion of a glass roof...and makes the sunroof disappear...but I agree...on this color it's nice to display it wherever possible! I gather that Justin was likely going for an everything black theme up top...upper portion of grill was wrapped black, rear valence...and the roof. Just a different style from mine...

I have to admit, I'm getting to the point where I'm VERY happy and it's really feeling like I'm making the car my own.

Which mounts are you running?

Great idea though, I have a set of XLR8 75A mounts on the way & I'm expecting to battle dash rattles so this more than likely will come in handy.

Already have a few annoying rattles from riding full stiff 24/7....

oh and that Aspec kit never ceases to amaze me..

I personally think it looks GREAT on WDP cars.. just because white/black contrast

to each their own of course, it was definitely a shame to cover up KBP though...

i had to do the same thing. i used a lot of garage liner (foam tape essentially) and stuffed it in the crack along the entire dash.

one helpful hint is to neutralize all your mounts. i did this recently and it cut the vibration in half. for a 6mt, you torque everything to the frame. torque the bolt running through the rubber in the mount. and hand tighten the bolt from the mount to the engine. move the car in reverse a foot, move it forward a foot, then rev a little in neutral, then go torque all your bolts.

also helps reduce the change of destroying your mounts (look at my recent thread my xlr8 front mount completely fell apart!!)

Q...was swapping over some things!

sockr, thank you very much...funny you mention, I'll be buying some prototype inserts for the mounts from gerzand soon and I'll be sure to unload the mounts before final torque. I guess same idea as doing that for the bushings that rotate...torque down once the suspension is loaded up.

J.

Johnny...sho you right...love that aspec and black on white is right!

i actually got a quote from him too haha for some new inserts, unless he has something even more new. his have a bigger surface area and i'll prob go from 60 series to 70 series since there's not much vibration change between those two. i already tore up 1 xlr8 mount!

But really... get them while you can. Only have 2 sets left before needing to order more material. WHEN that may happen I do not know precisely.

Well, considering they're not available anywhere else, and they're not a cash cow that'll motivate you to keep them in production...and yours are in and good...

Yeah, I wouldn't sleep on those.

was cheaper for me to wrap my roof then repaint it so I elected to go that route. Down the line ill decide if I want to repaint the roof.

KBP looks much better without vinyl

Good work man.

Part of me misses my integra just because the small upkeep can really keep you entertained.

Once this ILX is paid off I will have my commuter aside. I'll be looking to move out solo at that point and once Im squared away I will be looking at either of the cars you drive.

99% sure it would be an s2k.... 1% TL as I do fall in the category of being younger when the 3G was released. My mother couldnt afford one, she had an Avalon. But my best friend's mother did and my god.

But really Im thinking s2k so I have a project/weekend car and the ILX for my commuter.

Jeff, for sure, man...if the roof was fuxord, I would not have removed the vinyl and instead would have told people it was almost matte black

Jon...I can assure you, the S2000 would be perfect for what you're describing as your needs. In a way, I have 2 cars (well, 3 if you count black girl on her way out) that are all stick and have to be babied and are stick and suck in traffic. The ILX is perfect for traffic/comfort and a kid down the line. The S2000 is so impractical but fun, it's the perfect balance for it. I honestly never get bored because every time I drive one car or the other...I miss the other.

Current state...intake filter off, gonna clean it...waiting on a piece from Bruce (thanks Bruce! ) for the headlights...getting them clear coated professionally by my buddy tomorrow (thanks B Buddy )...then in the next few weeks...aspec install (no sides for now, I'll wait for that since it's a standalone mod)...clean up exhaust tips...swap out to HFPC (thanks Rich!!! ) since rear PCD is cracked.

Putting in short shift and about to order the hybrid racing bushings...tightened up the e-brake cable too...

Just truckin along slowly, no real rush, for me...

Literally, the kid comment is exactly why I am keeping all my parts. I'll keep the car for sure but when its time to give to hand it down it'll go back to stock with a tone of still like new parts like the intake, exhaust, suspension, wheels, etc etc.

Really if I can Id love an old beat up NSX to restore. But an AP2 would be amazing as well. Silver or yellow.

I can safely say a car is never done but we all lie and say "ehh, no more after this". Watch J end up boosting the S2 and putting the TL on bags.
