So i just got off the phone with the local acura dealer and the service manager said it was a pretty common thing with the 04's since it was 8 years old. I told him it shouldnt be a common thing for it to be happening since my old 89 accord's dash looked new the day i sold it 2 years ago. Told me i could call corporate monday since there was nothing he could do.

And saying its an 8 year old car is BS. Thats admitting the build quality isnt top notch.

I even called the same dealership tyler brought his to when he got his fixed and the service guy said he hadn't ever seen nor heard of the cracking dash in the tl.
I have seem at least 3 TL's (including mine) with a crack exactly like that. After close inspection I have theorized that it is a result of the area not having enough moisture. Mine has been the same since last November so if Acura doesn't do anything about yours, just apply some 303 and keep watching it.

I doubt they'll do anything but even if they goodwill it and I pay the $500 or what ever the dash is I'll probably pass and just get a dash mat. I've got bigger plans right now

Dan...man that sucks....I wish Acura goodwills it or atleast forks out more than 50% of the bill....
I know Rockstar put some dash cover on his car and IMO it looks very good...maybe try that
its an option out there ya know....

I believe we clamped the first one and then went and ate lunch so maybe 30-45 minutes?
actually we just used clear rtv sealent. put a nice bead of it then clamped it and then while it was clamped together we ran another bead around the entire lens. So far i havnt had a single issue.

So you guys cleared out the old butyl seal from the channel and when it was time to seal the ehadlights back up all you did was put the RTV sealant in the channel and press the headlight lens up against it?
Seems way easier than butyl lol
Butyl you have to put in the channel and soften it up by putting the headlight in the oven, then take the front lens and pushing the two together.
