Oh, I though you had cleared the other parts when you painted them a while ago.

Tyler, did you clear coat your grille? If so which kind did you use? Yours looks a bit different than mine does. I am addicted to this stuff, my plan is sometime soon to try to do the roof with it and add glossifier to it.

I actually tired this last night, came out bad. I used 5 cans and that still wasn't enough to get a good even coating. You could see the darker and lighter spots in it. I ended up peeling it off early this morning and I'm just going to go the vinyl route.

That's what I keep hearing, but I thought about buying it by the gallon and trying it with the paint gun that the dude uses on dipmycar.com. I watched the video of him doing his whole car and it looked flawless. I bet that gun has a lot more control than the cans. Ultimately I was looking for a cheap way to get the roof black, other than vinyl.

Same here, 5 cans at $6 was the cheapest way

A company that does car wraps in town has quoted me $130 for a gloss black vinyl roof so that's the route in going to take now.

Here's a few shots before I peeled it off this morning.

Peeled it off and I'm back to all silver as of now

Honestly, if you were to add glossifier on top of that, I don't think it would look bad...

Looks like Dan answered everyone's questions

I did NOT do any clear coat or gloss on the grill. The only piece I added clear coat to was the rear bar just to see if it would make a difference.

I've been driving my dad's car so I haven't seen the TL outside at all since I painted the pieces. I'll look it over and take pictures at the meet today.

Mccollins, I believe he DID add the glossifer which is that picture that shows spotty gloss...almost like when some areas of paint are dry and others aren't. Glossifier in the can wasn't the solution. I'd say MAYBE just doing it matte black with the plastidip would have been the solution.

J is correct, I used 2 cans of glossifier and that was no where near enough. Probably needed 6-7 cans of plasti dip and 5-6 cans of glossifier to achieve a glossy look.

if you do black mirrors, you might as well get the 07 ones that blink.

I think it looks great just the way it is, Tyler.

Besides getting a lip spoiler and all of the big parts I want (coils and wheels), the car is pretty much done.

You guys are hilarious. Anil I'll be sure to keep that in mind if I decide to order the spoiler.

Sean, bags would be awesome. I'm jealous of Ravin's air ride. I want bags but I wouldn't do that with OEM wheels

Well a white grill and roof would look weird on your car, but dropped with the A-Spec kit and wheels plus some ATLP goodies would be approved

I'd buy white wheels if I could get a commitment from any one of you to follow me around and wipe them down every 2 to 3 hours for me. Otherwise, I'd never go there...they are permadirty.
