I was just commenting that the rear cat comes out by first removing the heat shield, and then pulling it out through the top...effectively eliminating the need to remove the axle.

Stock exhaust?
Has anyone put the ProCats on their car and left the stock exhaust? Any issues? Still getting around 21HP? From reading through this thread it looks like everyone who's done the ProCats also has done the CT Cat back... Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll be interested in what differences you notice once you get the CT cat back. I'm thinking about the Pro Cats but probably wouldn't want to dish out the extra for the CT at the same time since I just ordered the A-SPEC suspension...

I had my car 2004 AT TL with 12K miles, stock wheel/tire and suspension wise, on the Dynojet today at e-shift and with the pro cats installed the best run was 240 hp and 215 tq, 3rd gear at 110 mph, outside temps in the 70s. My best base run was 227 hp and 201 tq and thats with the Comptech catback, UR pulley, Injen intake, and small mods like Sun V&G kit and Outlaw spacers already on my car. Mike and the rest of his crew are great guys and I highly recommend them to anyone in NY or NJ area. I also met Mark-Nitrotiger there he was changing his oil, his car is awesome and he seemed like a very nice guy. Mike said that the power will increase as the ecu learns more. We only did a couple of runs right after the install and after the battery was disconnected so most likely the ECU didn't completely adapt to the increased flow. So far I only put about 40 miles on this mod but I can say that the car feels more responsive and torquey. The exhaust is louder now but not too much. Overall, I'm very happy with this mod and highly recommend it, looks like for the money no other mod gives more gain than this mod and for that it's worth every penny. Many thanks to Mark and E-shift for making this possible.

Safety Car
Guys a few questions that I could not get off 40 pages of stuff here.
1) It seems per the pictures these are just CATS not headers or a downpipe. Am I correct here? I am impressed with the gains just Cats do. I had a CL-S with OBX headers (one of the first cars to have these installed and dynoed here a long time ago) and 30 hp gain was unreal!.
2) Now if these gain this much power which obviously by the dynos they do. Why hasn't anyone made a DOWNPIPE / Ypipe to replace the stock one for even more power?
3) Also what about a downpipe without the cats? Has anyone come up with one like this yet?

1. These are just cats. The 3rd Gen TL exhaust manifolds are part of the head.
2. I bigger J-Pipe was made; the car lost power, at least on a N/A TL.
3. If doing the cats with a new J pipe lost power, new pipes without cats would probably lose some more too. Plus you would never pass emissions and you would throw a CEL.

So the quicker i get pricing the quicker the list will go up. Remember they are going to make a stainless set the one on my car is not full stainless yet. No matter what the price it's worth the money and my car has 60k on it and look what it made. with a CAI im sure it would be over 260whp not sure i want to go that route yet.
