RV6 V3 Long Tube J-Pipe Release '04-'08 TL all trims **UPDATE PAGE 4**

Anyone in Cali running the V3 J-pipe and ran the smog recently?
Richie,
I recall someone mentioning installing the V3 and leaving the 3rd cat housing so it appears as if nothing is missing upon a glance. Do you know if this will fit ok without rattling or any issues?

They also said not to worry about getting the car impounded.
Looks like all the lights are green.

I spoke to a few cops and all of them told me not to worry unless I'm street racing with a team of people and get caught. Apparently, they have special units that check out racer vehicles when performing certain types of crackdowns when problems arise. The average cop doesn't give a $hit.

J-pipe received Saturday... installed Saturday... Impressions: ... Its definately got some more get up and go. Before I would get a little stutter before it took off, now it just goes and doesn't want to stop. It's not like blow you away supercharger stuff, but its noticeable and feels good. The sound is pretty +EV to!
I do have a question for Richie, or anyone else. Towards the back where the Jpipe meets the exhaust, there is that skinny metal piece that looks like a 'Y' welded onto the Jpipe. That piece goes into a rubber grommet which gets bolted to the car. When I put the 'Y' piece into the original hole of the grommet there was no way to bolt the piece down without the grommet being pinched. I instead put it in the "other" hole that was on the grommet. Whats the deal with this? I was going to bend that piece but figured I'd wait to see what is said here before I did anything different. I don't think it does much, but who knows I could be wrong.

Got the order I will ship it out asap. Thanks for the continued business.
What do you mean by pinched is the hanger in the wrong postion? A picture would help a lot. Try loosening the jpipe from the precats and exhaust first and then tightening the hanger.

That may have been my problem come to think of it. I tightened the pre cat nuts and then went back and did the hanger. I will try and take a pic of how I have it installed. I think the way I have it is fine.

The flex pipes give a good amount of play it is best to have everything loose before tightening it now.

You PM is full...
I am also one of those people who would have brought the PCD J-pipe combo if it was offered. On the same side of that coin I already have a deposit down on the exhaust. I think I remember reading that you would offer a discount on the exhaust for those who brought the J-pipe. It looks like the j-pipe PCD combo are at a $70 discount and the J-pipe discount was $100. Is that correct? If so, how would I go about ordering the package?
Long question short, would you extend a discount for a guy like me who is looking to rock the complete RV-6 exhaust?
Richie, Thank you for your time and the time and efforts that you put into your products.

Yea its directly welded. At this point you wont be able to remove your stock jpipe without cutting. Just have them cut off the stock jpipe and weld on the extra flange. That will bring back to stock.
