but if we just do the J-pipe, then no codes will be thrown and its just a visual inspection issue? How much gain in power is just the J-pipe with a CAI? So sorry if this is repeated info but theres alot of new Type S owners incl. myself and its tough to find all of this info and be sure your looking at a dyno for a type s if thats even available.
Thanks
Thanks
This is a "no brainer" mod and with the type-s, you will love it. Just do it and you will not be disappointed, I promise...

I recently purchased a 2008 tl-s A/T. I love the car and I would love to add 20hp with these mods. My knowledge of car engine's is very minimal.
I apologize if these questions have already been answered.....
- What is a Jpipe and Precat delete?
- Will the RV6 V3 Jpipe and V2 Precat deletes mods void my existing warranty?
- I noticed in the earlier pages of the thread that a member had to cut the splash guard to avoid it being melted.... is this still necessary?
- How would I go about installing this in my car? Will I simply be able to take it to a muffler shop and they would know what to do with it?
- Will this mod make my check engine light appear?
Thanks in advance for your help.

They will be on my car as soon as Richie delivers.... I can't wait ![Wish](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/wish.gif)
Pictures will be posted the second the install is done. I am so excited to see the gains when paired with the j-pipe and in the summer I will install the PCD as well...

There was more power gained in the mid ranges. The average numbers are pretty questionable. I would just ignore them and just look at the graph.

it is to make sure you have a cat on your car.i have atlp race pipe but the inspectors dont know that because mike at atlp was smart, and had holes fabricated for the factory cat heat shield to bolt over it,hiding the race pipe. very clever. looks just like the cat is there.![Victory](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/victory.gif)

Best I can say is that if your driving habits don't change then you will see an increase.

I just installed mine last Friday. All I can say is WOW!!! There is no change in exhaust note, but the torque and power this bolt on mod makes is unreal! I wished I would have purchased Richie's Jpipe before my CAI. Well worth the $$$.

peak of the power band - commonly refered to as the peak, the gain at this point can be whatever number
peak of the gain - yes has to be higher than the average gain

rv6 v3 j-pipe and cai
any issues in having both a cai and this j-pipe installed? i'm considering getting the j-pipe and i already have a cai, so just curious if there are any drawbacks.

^^^NO issues, I just wished I would have purchased the Jpipe first. I'm even tempted on picking up Richies V2 Precats because I've read it puts down more power/torque than his Jpipe....I highly recommend this as the #1 perfomance mod for our TL's, still being able to pass emissions and still sounding like a stock TL....

Have CAI, CompTech Exhaust, and RV6 v3 jpipe. All three have power gains (nothing crazy but tangible). Deep solid note, no droning. I did them one by one and can attest to the power increase. No dynos were used.
Side note - Jpipe increased the idle noise the most (still pretty quiet), the cat back exhaust from CompTech was just as quiet at idle and a good sound when flooring it.

Just ordered mine. What's been the shipping time most people have been seeing from order to door arrival. I know with it being the weekend my order most likely won't go through til Monday...

~1200 depending on the style of tips you want.
To VA I would estimate 2-3days you will see it before the weekend for sure.
