Richie, i assume our ECU will learn the new J-pipe and PCD after we install it.
Will that be better if we tune our ECU to fit the new J-pipe and PCD? and where can we tune it?
Because I am not going to do the Dyno, but I just wondering if the new j-pipe will lose power instead of power gain because the setting of the ECU is for our OEM J-pipe....right?

The ECU will learn the jpipe.
there are currently no tune's available for our cars, just as of yet.
there is in works of a new ECU.
Which will basically give us more traditional "hot rod" mods....cam, internals, turbos, nitrous, etc.
all the info can be found here:
https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-performance-parts-modifications-112/new-ecu-preview-806456/
The Jpipe is just a breather mod, and the ECU will adjust accordingly.

Guys, I need some installation tips and don't have time at work today to read through the many pages.
I'd like to know if I can just drive one side of my car over the curb, park it and work underneath. I do have jack stands but feel a bit uncomfortable working underneath the car when it appears excessive force might be necessary to remove the bolts.
Is the J-pipe easy to install? I've got quite a bit of tools so that shouldn't be a problem.
TIA

My TL loves summer

We installed my buddy's j-pipe today. It took a while but we got it done. We raised the car up from the front and then let it come down on jack stands on both sides. Some of the nuts were pretty rusted and hard to take off. We did strip one, but with a deep socket we were able to get it out. Use a 12-point and not a 6-point socket as Rich states in his instructions and you shouldn't have issues with the nuts being stripped. Hopefully going to get mine done tomorrow.

The install is not too bad, the only real issue is rusted bolts, I rounded one of the nuts on the 2nd collector and started to round out the bolts on the cat. Gotta love New York weather and rusted bolts, stopped there and bolted everything back up brought it to a shop in Suffolk and was quoted $200-$250 to install. I quickly got in my car and drove outta there. I love how these shops try to make a killing on a hour's worth of work.
Anyone know of a good exhaust shop on Long Island??

The nuts to the precats on my oem jpipe are more of a bitch than expected. I guess it makes sense since they haven't been touched in 6 years (car is an 05).
I might need professional help lol. Dunno if I have the tools needed.

I don't have a torch or a super huge breaker bar. I'm probably screwed lol.
I'll probably try buying a longer bar or just letting an exhaust shop do it in a bit. I'm buying greddy exhaust from someone so I might as well wait and have a shop do all of it if I can't do this with what I have.

BIC lighter ftw?
idk man...i know mine would not come off without using the torch. no amount of PB blaster would jar them loose. i got pissed...and then played with fire...and then was happy again.
plenty of people have installed the jpipe without the need for a torch, i just wasn't one of them. sorry you're having a hard time man, good luck to you. maybe go purchase a breaker bar...?
