wow!!
So i have been in FL so this is the first time I was able to check up on this thread and let me just say I am amazed at all the negativity here. I really cannot believe you people are so quick to call BS or imply it when s_heng & subsonicman have gone out of their way to try to please you guys, can we cut them a little slack? You wanted the dyno, it was done, they even invited everyone to attend. You wanted the #'s and the sheet, they were posted up. You wanted pics and vids, they were posted up as well. I think everyone that doubts this project at all should come to the NY meet to see it for yourself. Can you all just hold your judgment until then? Give them a chance people!!

we are giving him a chance. we just want some questions answered. mainly:
whats the A/F ratio?

is it too much to ask?

Just checking back, and no doubt there is some scepticism here mainly in part because of the dyno graph. My old bmw 318ti was supercharged with a DA/SC and never have I seen a dyno graph that smooth. That doesn't mean the community is unappreciative or entirely doubt the fact you managed to retune the CT ACM, fit the supercharger in your car, and not have it blow up at the dyno. No one has suceeded until now.

If you were in Chicago, I'd be the first person at the dyno to witness why I shouldn't change my car to a 335. Maybe at the LI meet we can redyno? Also remember this is the internet and people will be overly critical, so keep us updated on the progress and hopefully we can make this a viable option to other members of the community.

If anyone knows of a dyno w/in 20-30 minutes from the park, I'll run over there and spin the drums, but that's about as far as I'm willing to drive.

first off, congratulations on the project. takes alot of guts to go where no man has gone before (no im not a trekky ). taking on something like this can be a rollercoaster ride filled with its ups and downs for sure. so mad props to you

now my thoughts,.... that is a weird looking dyno graph for sure. did you guys do any before dyno's? it would be nice to compare the before and afters to get a better grip on whats going on here. im not doubting these numbers at all, since there is not another 3.5 TL-S j35A8 SC'd in existance we can compare it with. a nice smooth hp curve is can be had, so that doesnt surprise much. most of my dyno graphs have a smooth uphill climb like that, but i am tuned. the TQ curve is the one in question for me. from my experience, TQ doenst usually peak until vtec, then takes a nice dive till redline. your TQ curve looks more like one you see on a turbo application, where you can hit full boost at say 3k rpm and sustain those kind of TQ numbers all the way through. with the roots blower and built in bypass valve, i dont see how that is possible.

anyways, id really like to see an a/f graph and a vacuum graph would be nice too. curious to see what your boost levels are at certain rpms. any chance of posting those up?

...These are the HP numbers for an n/a engine, I'm thinking you'll get more out of the precats and j-pipe since you're s/c'ed.

So at least another 45HP fully modded, bringing it up to ~370whp. Respectable!

thats wishful thinking, BUT these mods will not add up anywhere near those numbers with a supercharger. 3-5whp tops. ive proven that with my car already

i was just looking at my dyno sheet, and my HP increase is pretty straight, not as straight has hengs, but pretty damn straight. but torque on the other hand, not even close to hengs.

but of course, im n/a

and also, those #'s with the precats and stuff arent even close.

i did before and after dyno with my mods in my sig, not even close to 45hp gained. the thing is when most people post their before numbers, its sae corrected, when they post AFTER its UNCORRECTED. mine was BOTH corrected and i gained 26whp and 18lbs tq

if i used uncorrected, id be around 278, corrected was 263

I don't have a scanner, so it's gonna be a little harder for me to post the other graph. Especially so since I forgot it in JC. When I go down next weekend, I'll see how takin a pic of it works out and post it up that way. That seems to be my only option right now, unless somebody wants to bring a scanner to subsonicman's shop on fri night or anytime on sat. I'll have my laptop there, so... If you know anything about the CT ACM, you know that it brings VTEC down to 3000 RPM, and I think that's why it gets up there so quick. We started the runs at ~1800 and went to ~6500. Anyways, time for sleep.

you started the run at 2350, ended at 6750 according to dyno sheet.

plus your torque numbers reached almost max at 2900rpms

Here is my dyno pull on and off the bottle> Even though it was scorching hot that day my curves dont look anything like that. Strange. I would have expected higher torque numbers with that HP read. Anyhow. Some food for thought.

here's mine with 0 smoothing... gee looks just like theirs mmmhhh

here is a pull with 2 different tl-s...
#9 was my car with procats
#10 and 11 was thewanderer's tl-s with no cats

the only odd thing I see is the torque line... which could very well be someone fucked up when they tapped into the coils to get a rpm signal or just like I mentioned before the dyno is out of wack

have fun doing any real pulls since you have the 125 limiter and as well the SH-AWD system requires a 4 wheel dyno + gives about 35% power loss.

why dont you get the TL-S totally figured out first (tuning, fuel upgrade, hbp. etc,..) then see what you can do with an RL

Interesting thread, tried to catch up as much as I could.

Let m correct some assumptions that some of the members have here, if it hasn't already been addressed, the bypass valve is vacuum actuated and not controlled by rpm, just rev your car in nuetral and you can see the bypass valve open up, it based off vacuum pressure, the lower the vacuum the more open the throttle is which means its time for the SC to kick in.

The graph does seem smooth but then again the torques y-axis is pretty short and the x-axis the rpms run along is pretty long so that would definitely smooth things out compared to my dynapck dyno runs at Church's where its very narrow and as a result has a lot of spikes in it.

With an extra 300cc of displacement he should be running 2psi lower but the same CFM. With a drive ratio of 2.1X almost 2.2 on my 3.2 im runnign a max of 5psi, but then again I question my TRD boost gauge at times since it does a poor job zeroing itself out when vacuum pressure is elminated from it and the engine is turned off, by calculations it should be 6-7psi on my 3.2, so 4-5psi on his 3.5

Either way he should get a bigger blower 90ci instead of 62ci. Everyone already agrees on this fact. Im already hitting the blowers max rev. speed of ~14-15K with the HBP. At least with a bigger blower I could boost more and get more CFM from the same displacemetn while spinning it slower and keeping it in a more efficient speed.

Always wanted to see a SCed RL, always thought those heavy tanks needed one.

How do you know you're hitting the max rev speed here?

Wells theres a SC dyno simulator on Eatons website and if you give them a drive ratio and redline that exceeds at least 15000 then it puts it in red. Most people dont worry about it especially since its not for long durations but it is fairly inefficient at those speeds compared to around 4000rpm at the engine.
Otherwise drive ratios of low 2's are not uncommon and since we rev up to 7000 that puts it in the max speed zone.

Also just looking at the graphs you can see where they stop as you will notice the TVS 6th gen blower can spin faster and handle higher pressure ratios.

Performance Map of 6th gen TVS SC (900ml most comparable)

5thgen roots (ours are 4th so its not going to be as god as this one)

ok aziners, I just checked out this car and OMG it is sick! I even got to go for a ride in it I absolutely LOVE it! I said it before and I will say it again, anyone that has any doubts about this car needs to come to the NY meet to check it out. Then after you see if if you have anything negative to say then you are just a hater because the car is ridiculous!!
