Comptech uses 2 resonators if I recall correctly, and so does Tanabe. We don't use any and focus on having the mufflers be responsible for, well, muffling. That's why we use pretty large canisters instead. Ask those who have the ATLP system on the 3.2 Base TL, and I think a lot of them will tell you it's not too loud and sound just right. But of course, if you need a quieter than normal ride, you can always add in a resonator. Or two.
Or when your stuck in snow with VSA off....
God that looks so fucking nice...
It better fit... I've been waiting a very very very long time to see this.
Noooooooooooo! You can't do this to me
What clearance issues are you referring to? How do these tips compare (size wise) to OEM? Can you tell us what will need to be cut to get these to fit an RJ bumper?

I must say this ehaust is sexy. I have another Q, why does the ATLP non res make more power then the XLR8 non res, tanabe non res, and comptech non res? And does the greddyII make the most power out off all the exhausts sorry for the hijack
Tanabe doens't have a non-res, neither does comptech. in fact, both have a res and a mid-muffler.

This totally sucks. I'd really like to see these tips next to stock tips so I can get a better visual of the difference. I wonder if Mike would just sell the ATLP without a tip... Then I'd just find one that fits the RJ rear and have it welded on.
Now there is an idea! I saw some tips I wanted, they are like $75 each. They kinda look like the tips on the M series Mercedes.
Here's some news. We got the prelim install done. Everything works so far, the only thing we will need to do from this point is make a working muffler, and check for sound.
Anther possibility for this batch is we may have a east/west-coast vendor stocking our products. This will help a lot with shipping times, costs, and could even help those who want to pick it up in person. That of course is TBA.
Anyway, on to the good stuff.
Tim pulls up, rear bumper comes off. The Quads look so naked. =)

We proceed to take off the mufflers to make room for the dummy fitment muffler.

Dummy muffler goes on, holes are punched and orientated to fit the quad pipes that go into the tips.

Tip is then fitted, made sure there aren't any clearance problems, and then welded.

Excuse the white foam covering the tip, we didn't want to damage the tip so we kept on the padding. Without the foam, you will be seeing the side of the tip and a glimpse of the quad pipes with it's TIG welding. Pipes will be polished as well.

Rear-end shot shows how it will look for other drivers staring at your back. =)

Top view shot shows how much will be showing.

And the money shot.

Hi-Res is available. Does it more justice.

Thanks! Feedback, comments welcome! We've got probably around 10 more spots for the first batch.

OK I guess I will be the first. It looks just all right to me. Almost looks like it is just thrown together, with no symmetry as to the mufflers leaning one way then the tips off the other way. I think personally the muffler should have had 1 outlet. To me it looks like from the back (what the other drivers will see view), the tip is lost. But again this is my 2 cents.

The thing about the rear shots that you have to understand is, it's all clean. So "To me it looks like from the back (what the other drivers will see view), the tip is lost." will more then likely go away when everything gets black exhaust crap all over it lol...(on the inside of the tips/etc)

If enough people do NOT like the current design, I can have the manufacturer make the rolled edge width thicker, making the "outline" of the tip more distinct. Let me know if I'm totally talking about something else, or if that's what your seeing.
Also, the angles are what they are. Any more, you might just keep the stock, and it won't look right. you will see too much of the "inside" from the side.
I think its fine the way they are. We've been waiting long enough. Get the mufflers going so it can go into production. You can't satisfy everyone with the design. There was plenty of time to give feedback when it was discussed regarding the tip design.
Sorry to hear about your deal with the fraud on AZ. I hope you get your money or exhaust back. I hope this situation doesn't affect your work on current and future ATLP products.

OK- now here is the most important question for us RJ owners, what are the width and heighth dimensions of the tips. Is there no one near you with an RJ rear so we can test fit these? I will volunteer but alas I am in the great depression state of Michigan. These tips are growing on me, and I did forget about how they get darker. I have waited a long time, and I don't want to have to "adjust" the RJ rear to fit.
P.S.- It's only a short flight from Cali to the Motor City!
