^ thats better for those members in snowy weather... but hey it is also fairly easy to pick up a bottle of black silicon hitemp coating course you sand it down a little before applying paint, and it'll look stealthy...

don't think everyone will be black happy simply because they may say it looks too stock

by the way ib18c's whip looks to be on 265's with 3 degrees of negative camber

Thx.

Would be cool if a sleeper version was offered as an option:
- blackout inside of tips
- blackout mufflers
- add resonator

Having the quads visible from inside the tip does look a little strange, but maybe, like you say, this goes away after they darken - or get blacked out. Can you black them out for the prototype and pics so we can see how visible the quads are through the tips? The first thing that came to mind when I saw the photos was, "why are those quad pipes being crammed into that awesome tip?". Maybe a single, larger, pipe from muffler to tip would be cleaner and more true to form. The quads do look pretty cool from underneath, but unless the blackout does a really good job, I'd vote for a single big pipe from muffler to tip.

My

Appreciate all the work you've put into making this happen.
Yeah, I mean you can ask anyone with the ATLP exhausts and they can tell you that the inside of the tips are definitely much darker than when they first got it. The duals is really something you need to look at before judging. You can buy most the tips with single inlets, and put it on. You're going to regret it as it's going to look puny. Having a giant single pipe will just mean more drone, as you want to keep the velocities up so all the sound can escape past the rear bumper of the car.

Hey Mike, I think im convinced.. How do I go about putting down the deposit?
E-mail me at mike@acuratlparts.com, with contact and shipping information.

Now I need to hear this Gem.
Early next week. I want to say Tuesday probably.

Mike, need your help here. I read through this thread twice and I can't find anything on the dimensions of the tip.

I'm looking to see how much (if at all) of my RJ bumper I would have to cut to get this tip to fit.

While looking at the tip from the back, can you please measure top to bottom, and left to right from the widest point and let us know the dimensions?

Thanks ever so much!
Will do. I'll get a chance to do that Tuesday.

We can do the resonator, as well as the black-out inside of the tips. We can also do the canister, but I don't trust it being shipped. Reason being, the paint on the canister, must be cured while the car is running. That's how they are "set". I'm worried that while it's being shipped, the canisters may move around and some paint may chip. It's extremely easy to paint the canisters when you have them off the car. I used VHT Hi-Temp Satin black, and it works wonders.

Looking forward to hearing the sound clips. Mike, unless I'm mistaken, you said this was the same exhaust as the atlp quads just with different tips. That said, will the sound be any different? Will the tips have that much affect on the tone?

Oh, and what is your avatar supposed to be? I always end up staring at it for awhile trying to figure it out.

Tips have a small influence on the sound, as they add a certain note to it. But we will find out for sure how different it will sound, as we will have both the quads and the base exhaust on the testing date.

Avatar is just the Bape pattern. I like it because it's green. =)

Btw, those who sent me e-mails, I got them all. I just haven't responded to them, because we are still finalizing a few things, thus I did not want to double-email everyone.

Thanks!

^Gains should be the same as the atlp quads, so there really isn't a need for a dyno run.

I believe Mike said the ATLP base exhaust uses the same piping/mufflers as the ATLP Quad. The only major difference are the tips of the exhaust. Doing a dyno would be a waste if that is the case.

Exactly. Everything is pretty much the same, except the tips. If you were to convert back to base, you can swap your bumper and the mufflers. =)

Thursday we're getting together and doing some sound clip videos.

you are right..
but knowing azine... people would wanna see it.. thats why i said if people wanna pitch in for a dyno, they can cuz if they wanna see it, i don't think mike is gonna shell out his own money just for a dyno that brings the same gains as what he has done before... werd? haha..
