Replacing factory sub

I have the 05 TL w/ Nav. The rear sub is blown. Can i replace the factory 8" sub with an aftermarket 8" sub in the same location? As well as just using the existing wires and factory amp?

It would have to be pretty thin and I believe the factory sub is 2 ohms. You would be better getting another OEM sub.

I have a guy selling his factory kicker subs out of the doors of his mustang. (Had no idea they had subs in the DOORS) But if they fit in the doors i hope it would fit. But can work around fitting issues. But you're saying as long as it is a 2 ohm sub it should work with factory amp and wiring?

Should work if its a 4 ohm sub but will likely be quieter amd with more distortion as you turn the volume up. Factory amp likes to run at below 2 ohms.... Aftermarket dual 2 ohm wired for 1 ohm might work well.

Seems like the door subs out of the mustang i am looking at buying are "special 1 ohm dual voice units". So im hoping it will work. But someone has just informed me that if my car has the Bose system, which im pretty sure it does with the nav pkg, it will not work with anything but Bose speakers? Is this true?
Do i buy a replacement factory sub for $80 or the new mustang sub/kicker for $50. Im just thinking the kicker will put off me "beat". Or if anyone has any ideas on what i should do, id love to hear them. I just want a lil more bass if possible without having to run alot of wires and take up any space in the trunk.

No Bose system in our cars. Its manufactured by Panasonic. Sounds like the stang sub might work!
