Also, is the kit still for sale?
Yes you'd lose sub & center speaker. No the kit is not for sale anymore. You're 3 years late to the party.Originally Posted by Lukieluc

Figures. Does anyone sell a PnP harness for an aftermarket 6 channel amp that can replace the OEM system?

Nobody sells a PnP harness, to answer your question. A bit of elbow grease is always needed on the TL.Originally Posted by Lukieluc

Guys go back and read what I wrote, talked about it quite a bit. You can get your center channel working if you want to. Mine does.
If you REALLY want your sub to work there are ways around that too. I have two 12s in the trunk so I didn't care to lose the crappy sub.
True this package is not officially for sale up here......but dig around you might be able to score. And once in awhile someone might sell their PnP amp. I saw someone selling one a few months ago and surprisingly nobody bit on it right away.
Sometimes there is low demand for a great item when it is available. Then once it goes out of production it seems like there is more of a market for it. (i.e. A-Spec rims, A-Spec badges, supercomputer sills etc.)

Of course. But the whole point of this amp is not just the dimensions. This is at least 4 channel (5 channel would have been ideal.) It outputs a LOT of power for it's size. It's efficient and doesn't require huge gauge power wires running to it. And of course the whole point here is the PnP harness.
If there is another amp that fills the bill let us know because it's been quite awhile since this amp came out. There must be alternatives by now. Something that runs 5 channels with lower impedence would be even better.

Amp is pretty much irrelevant (as long as its the same size). Its the PnP interface that made this piece unique.

I have a Clarion XC1410 laying around was thinking about using it to power my fronts and rears and leave the center and sub on the stock amp. What do you guys think?

This amp isn't bridgeable. So there will be two extra channels not being used. Originally Posted by pohljm

Also, could I install the amp under the passenger seat? If so, how do I get power from the battery too the amp.

So hopefully someone sees this, but i have no idea what i am doing. So if i ordered this exact same amp is it possible to plug n play with factory speakers? Trying to go the cheap route. Do i just need to get harnesses for the amp? HELP

Plug and play implies plug and play

Let me know how this project goes. I may attempt something similar!

I still have mine. IIRC, the member (Uncald4) took some parts from the factory amp and modded a harness to plug into a small Rockford Fosgate Punch amp and interface with the factory harness to power the fronts and rears, and it mounts in the factory location. He also added a pigtail for a sub output. I've had mine for several years now, and it still does the job decently. The issue is that the L/R separation isn't great, so you lose a little of that depth. Plus the Punch amp isn't necessarily awesome, but it certainly brought some life into the audio system, and it fit into the original space. I replaced the speakers with some Imagine Hybrid Audio and added a JL 10w6 sub powered by a XD600 amp under the passenger seat. Originally Posted by Andre Shipmon

Thanks to Rockford Fosgate we've been able to deliver some amazing sound without the need for substantial upgrades to the audio system. At ICON Audio Technologies we specialize in high-end audio install. We love these new Rockford Fosgate Punch Series amps for Porsche, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Dodge Viper and new Corvette. It tucks in places that no other amplifier can. It's a great replacement or add-on to the factory amplified system.
Recently we've used it to replace the factory amp in a few 3rd Gen TL's. Most of you know how beautifully our subwoofer enclosures add amazing bass response to your TL. But there is still something missing in your front stage. It's missing power, clarity and volume. This is the cure.
Easy to install. No extras to purchase. Mounts in the factory amp location. The pictures above are from a 2004 TL. We did the install in 20 minutes from start to finish without a plug and play harness.
We are considering a group buy for the amplifier with plug and play harness. Please share your thoughts, suggestions and questions.
