Ok now we're talking. They look good though and would achieve the off look during the day like some of us want while still looking good when on at night. I suppose the next thing would be to wire them to turn on with the foglights or headlights.

Now if mine would just get to me in the mail. I had them shipped to my job so maybe they will get here today via the postman. Now if my service manuals would get here. But both are probably coming early next week.

lights,

What? how would you get in trouble with the cops????? 80% of cars in USA do not have DRLs.

This is a completely optional accessory.

They would be on but maybe just not seen. I dunno Canadian motor vehicle laws though so maybe just call up your local DMV or police dept and ask. And sadly the postman didn't have anything for me today so looks like it will definately be sometime next week. Does anyone know how long its been taking them to receive their lights after payment?

don,

I've paid on Monday, selected the cheapest shipping there was, and 3 days later they were in my office.

They've shipped it Priority Mail.

Yes priority mail is what I picked too but with insurance (only because they are bulbs) most any other hard part would of had no insurance. But stuff like bulbs and electronics I always tend to get them. Yea 3 days is good but I figured it would take a day or 2 longer due to my location in relation to the shipper and tomorrow being a Sunday yea I fully expect them to be at the office on Monday or Tuesday.

I figured out how to disable the DRL without triggering the idiot light in the dash. I ordered some parts to make my test rig permanent and I will post a DIY when I finalize everything.

Wow they really do make it difficult to change these unless you have unusually small hands.
Also the original bulbs were in there tight, you have to "break" them loose.
Ended up breaking a pin on the P-side engine cover and lost one of the air duct pins down the air duct.
At least I'll never have to change them again.

You guys are releasing the wiring harness/clip first, right?

At least on the fogs the sockets are a bitch to turn (or won't turn) until you release the wiring clip from the socket.

on these since I haven't done 'em yet.

DNP, you seem to always have something negative to say...enough.

Bearcat, un-clip the connectors first, then turn the bulb counterclockwise...Use a towel or wear a glove to handle the bulb, I've scrapped my hands a bit.

I bench 300lbs superset, and I had a difficult time turning the bulb. Not every car is created equal For some the bulb will be loose, for some it will seem like it was freaken soldered in.

Update on my driving experience so far...

OK, I think the pictures I've took above where the LED is barely visible are not that accurate. I was taken pictures in direct sunlight to portray how it will look in the bright bright sun. (mind you everything seems faded in bright sun)

Today, as I was driving to work, I've seen my reflection in every car in front me...These LED ARE seen in the day time, they produce a gorgeous pure white light.
(they resemble color of 5000K hids, just not that filling)

Someone please post more pics so other members can have a better idea regarding these DRLs.

Guys, let's be civilize here. We are all here to help, not attacking someone because they have a difficult time installing bulbs. I do agree that not everything is as simple as it should be. Yesterday, I had a hard time taking out he bulb from the license plate.

Agreed they are definitely visible in daylight... I'm having a hard time trying to capture this on cam, ambient light just gets caught up in the reflector and washes out the LED output. I'm hoping someone with more camera skills can get this.

On the other thing, sometimes it's the small projects that turn out the longest, lol. I remember a classic thread here on a CAI install that went wrong and took MANY MANY hours to finish. Good thing we're all famliy here...

They look good when reflecting off the car in front of you.
You don't need to unclip first, there's enough play to twist them off first. I find this easier so you don't drop the bulb and re-inserting into the lens.
The OEM were put in very tight, also they are in a position that you can't really see them, so you have to feel around to put in the new bulbs.
DNP I don't know which 3G you have but it was very difficult to twist off and it didn't help that one of them is next to the battery.
I also noticed that I was missing the locking clip for the battery cover (damn f'n dealer)!!!
Wow 300 superset.
I only have a daytime pic, i'll take a night pic later.

LOL, brings more attention to the car since the bulbs aren't very visible.
Haven't really looked at them at dusk/night, if they are, it's very slight.
Look at all the freakn cat paw prints on my car!!
Well at least I got to clean the engine covers.

So, you guys are saying that the naked eye can see them rather easily...just can't show that with a camera so easily.

Right?

The pics of TeknoKing's white one indicate that they might as well not be there because you can't see them at all during bright daylight. The statement above seems to say that, in fact, you can...just having difficulty capturing it on camera. I'll know for myself today because, hopefully, they're in my mailbox as I type. I was just curious.

Thumbs up

Got home today and was able to put these in. The hardest part was removing the bulbs since you can't really see them. But taking off the connectors made them easier to turn the bulbs. The driver's side was more difficult because there is a lot less room. Total time probably 20 minutes since I was taking my time. But I am really impressed, very nice bright white color. And they look pretty evil from far away.

Well finally got a visit by the postman today at my job and received them and installed them about 5mins ago in my garage. They do indeed look good. And you can tell they are on. But this was all in my garage out of direct sunlight. and its like 8pm already anyways. They also cast 2 cool looking circles against the garage wall. The best way I cam describe them would be if Johnny 5 from Short Circuit had eyes that cast light. I know odd but think about it. If I weren't such a lazy bum I would take some picture but not tonight. They were well worth the money.

Okay, for those who want definitive pics indicating how bright (or not) these are, take a look at these. They appear to be a representative as I think they can be of what these look like once installed.

Before:

After:

Looks good to me. I love the change.

The center LED looks kinda demonic...like those really blue eyes portrayed on vampires like the movie Underworld.

BTW, these were taken same day, 10 minutes apart. The install took only 10 minutes, and that included opening the hood, removing the plastic coverings, and everything. Super easy.
